Especially since, as I mentioned previously, scum didin’t follow up with a night kill of Astral. It might have made sense for scum to take that risk if they killed the person they’ve confirmed as town, so that they could lend a (contrived) data point to support their plan. In this case, it seems like a last ditch effort to save one of their own. This would be a good time for a vig to act. ---

It would seem that I have at least two obstacles to playing Mafia as well as some of the better players. My diction [Not Vocabulary] could use a tweak. Then again, my diction perhaps says too much for my thought processes. “Fixing” one would sacrifice the other. I honestly don’t think you guys would want me to be a _regular_ player. ---

I can’t agree with your conclusion. If they had nightkilled me, we’d be asking why they didn’t nightkill the CLAIMED INVESTIGATOR. Leaving us both alive (and killing a different power role) makes far more sense; it leaves things in doubt, and Natlaw could have potentially been more convincing. If Natlaw stays alive, and they kill me, revealing my town identity, everyone would be saying "Well, you were right about Astral, but _why weren’t you killed instead?_ ---

It’s baffling that **Natlaw** , as scum, would stick his head out that far unless it was a high priority to protect **Astral**. But I just shake the feeling that it went down some other way. Consider: After **Pleonast** , scum doesn’t really have any “certain” high-value townie targets. So they decide on a gambit: protect someone in danger of lynch (doesn’t matter who, really) with a false detective claim. With luck, the town detective will counter-claim, netting them a new target. If not, they might still gain townie cred that could see them through to the end of the game while still netting a probable townie lynch anyway. Their risk is losing one of their own when town sees through the ruse and lynches the false detective. Which has happened. But what has scum gained? A townie lynch, an outed detective, and a player who everyone now mistrusts. Three townies, one a power role, for the price of 1 scum. And townies are decidedly low on the power roles right about now, while scum still have all of theirs. I can’t say this is a bad play on their part. ---
