Then again, maybe I immediately jumped to that conclusion because my friends and I have been known, when planning a weekend getaway or an important event, to use codenames and pseudo-military-speak via phone and email. (“Cobra, this is Panther–rendezvous 0500 at location India-Hotel-Oscar-Papa for rations and prep before beginning Operation TripToMaine–Panther out.”) Yeah, we’re total geeks. ---

How would post-crash deaths (like the air marshal) work? On the other hand, “Lost” has a nice ambiguity in that sense. Helen is a wierd name for a phone-sex operator-- unless she gave him a"real" name around the time they dropped the wank-script. I think she’s _probably_ a phone sex girl, but there’s an off-chance she might be a telephone psychic, too. An hourly rate sounds like it might work better for a 900 psychic line. ---

Another theory just occured to me. What if the whole experience is in Locke’s mind? He was denied the Walkabout and is so desperate for an adventure, so he invents a whole scenario in which he miraculously regains the use of his legs and almost immediately finds himself in a hero role by conquering the boar. Maybe he’s imagining the whole thing while dozing on the airplane? Surely not…that would be too cheesy…right? ---

The woman on the phone definitely said “customer”. Locke then said “A customer! Is that all I am to you?” or something to that effect. Yes, Locke referred to the co-worker with whom he was playing Risk by the same codename he used on the phone at the beginning of the episode. The pregnant lady with the Australian accent used it in all previous episodes. This is probably because the [actress](http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0211087/) is Australian. She just had more speaking time in this episode. Sawyer was also protective of Kate when he found out she was going on another expedition into the forest. He played it off, but he was concerned enough to say something… If they have a history, they’re hiding it really well. ---

Just out of interest, NoClueBoy - why did you bother obfuscating the character you were talking about, then say something that could only apply to one character on the show? :rolleyes: Re: phone sex. I don’t have a better explanation, but it doesn’t feel right. I don’t have first-hand experience of such things, but every advert I’ve ever flipped past has listed charges by the minute, not the hour, and the charge is payment for a premium-rate phone call rather than a bill to the customer. I also don’t know if you get phone sex services where you always talk to the same girl, but Locke’s definitely only talked to Helen and that for eight months. Re: the “We are dead” theory. I was saying to people last week that I will be very pissed off if that’s what’s going on. It’s a hackneyed cliche, and I expect better. Re: the Tree-Stomper killing the pilot but not killing Locke. So far, the Tree-Stomper hasn’t left the trees. Locke wasn’t in the trees when he encountered it. Re: the fish not looking holed. It was stabbed with a wide, flat piece of metal, not a round point. There was a very visible slash in its side. ---
