What if “they” even caused the weather problem which forced the plane off course in the first place because they wanted someone or something on that plane? As long as were talking wags, still. Picture: Mr Rourk, driven slowly mad by the inane fantasies of the 1970s era dimwits, and jaded by the lack of success of the Ludwig Van loving alter ego of his which failed a few years ago, finally decides that instead of granting the fantasies of others, he would now grant his own fantasies

I’ve read more _Lost_ commentary on TWOP than over here, and “Mercutio” stuck in my mind more easily than “Michael” – especially since he’s never called Michael over there. But I totally agree with your beef and will try never to let it happen again. Michael. Michael. Michael. You have to admit, “Boone, God’s Friggin’ Gift to Humanity” is a vast improvement on just plain “Boone,” though. ---

There are many, many things I don’t like about TWoP, but Dan Kwa has been doing a pretty good job with the recaps so far. We seem to see eye to eye on a lot of character issues, particularly Shannon and Sawyer. But if he doesn’t stop the Hawaiian vocabulary lessons and the bitching about how cold it is wherever he’s writing the recap vs. how cold it’s not in Hawaii, I’m going to snap my tether. ---

It’s because at the start, before we got to know the characters’ names, people had to resort to assigning archteypes/actor names/previous character names. E.g./ Redneck, KoreanGuy, MatthewFox, Mercutio Like in the _Alias_ threads when no one could remember Vaugn’s wife’s name, so she went from VaughnsWife, to VW, to Bug (like the VW car). Perrineau was _outstanding_ in the role of Mercutio, and is one of his most memorable roles (even in discussions about his role on _Oz_ I’ve seen him referred to as Mercutio). It would be like if Sarah Michelle Gellar was on_Lost_ everyone would probably still call her “Buffy.” I can appreciate that it would be annoying if you haven’t seen the Baz Luhrman film in question, but Michael is such a generic name that if I don’t see “and son” then I have to figure out if we’re talking about Redneck, Jack, or Mercutio. ---

No, the woman who was helping her leave her husband asked her “You’ve been taking your lessons?” while she was handing her what appeared to be a Canadian passport (could’ve been a U.S. passport, I just saw the navy blue flash across the screen quickly, but it looked more like the dull, gold Canadian passport crest, than the shiner American one). I understood this to mean that she had secretly been taking English lessons as part of her escape-from-hubby plans. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know and his “how do you plan on talking to them?” was a snarky way of reminding her that she has no choice but to rely on him. He doesn’t know she’s been working towards independence. ---
