Let’s talk about the opening minute: Saayid finds a power cable. It goes out into the ocean and back into the jungle. Following it inland, he comes to Danielle’s hut. What is on the other end? A submarine? Could it be a previous plane crash that ‘they’ hooked up to before getting killed? Or some secret Nemo thingy? Danielle: Exactly what did Danielle reveal as to why she and ‘they’ were on the island in the first place. Se said they were lost. A previous crash? Or lost as in not able to survive? ---

So, depending on the speed of their boat, they were some 30 to 60 miles from Fiji when the storm _started_. She didn’t say how long it lasted. They could’ve beendrug several hundred miles or some very small amount. Look for the map and drawings to help answer that Q. (WAG, not a spoiler) ---

Hey, I got a phone call right as she was saying it, so I couldn’t even tell if it was a boat or a plane! Good thing we have these threads. The cable could be attatched to the sunken boat, but to what in the boat? Was it nuclear powered? ---

It seems they had some kind of transferrable disease, for a couple of reasons. One, because she said they were “carriers”, and Two, because she said “what would happen if they were rescued?”, implying that if they were rescued, the disease would spread. Still, this is one of those shows that I can’t wait to see more of. ---

Also, her hut had a lot of power. She was using several devices. Including an electric chair. An electric chair What an odd thing to build on a desert island, no? ---

He was tied to a metal bed frame, and she was zapping him through that. Still, if you’re tossed off a boat and have to make a temporary shelter, where the hell do you get a metal bedframe from? I think there are others on this island and that place she’s in is not the shelter she (and her husband) first built, but one she took over. I mean, there’s a light and a bed and everything. ---

Even a makeshift electric chair made from bedknobs and broomsticks is still an odd thing to build in their situation (as we know it). I could use the metal in the bedframe for all sorts of tools, they made it into an electric chair. Why? Or, did she just now do it for Saayid? ---
