Heh. He’s a “That Guy!” for me every time he pops up. He a frequent pop-in on ER as well. But he’ll always be Mr. Gorpley to me. (Larry & Balki’s boss from Perfect Strangers.)
Hope we get to see how Hurley’s date goes eventually…though I’m guessing it didn’t go well. Poor Hugo. ☹

Good episode… seemed too short… like it should have been a two parter.
I swear we saw Bernard last season… Didn’t he appear in the trees at different points? Or was that just Jack’s dad?
My favorite part: Hurley is a fan of the Hold Steady…and although they aren’t playing the Troubador like he said… they are playing the Knitting Factory.

I’m not sure why Hurley is feeling guilty because his friend couldn’t handle Hurley’s good fortune. Hurley asked, the friend promised, the friend broke the promise. It’s not as if Hurley couldn’t go to the guy later and say “I’m sorry I mislead you. Would $50k cover your bills until you apply at the Pizza place?”

Any gun experts in the house? How do the guns in the swan bunker compare to the guns that CFL uses? If they’re the same, that would indicate contact between CFL and Desmond (or one of the other bunkers).
I really liked this episode. It actually did advance the plot, but mostly with the tail section folks. 23 survivors. Huh. Surprisingly, the mid section folks had, what was it, 46? It definitely wasn’t 42, even if you subtract 1 for Ethan.
Looks like the tail section folks have had lots of contact with The Others.
Are the Apollo bars the only food item that doesn’t have the Dharma logo? I thought so at first, but in the final scene when Hurley is handing out food, it looked like a lot of other stuff was non-Dharma branded.
Are we sure the DDB (big black dude) was part of the tail section survivors, or was he already on the island?
Anyone else notice the Virgin Mary figurine in Hurley’s living room in his back story? Think it’s got any secrets inside? 🙂

Best line this week goes to Sawyer: “Bitch!”…with the runner-up being Hugo’s mom: “That must be Jesus.”
I liked it that they slowed down a bit to let us catch our breath and get a bit more backstory, explore the hatch further, figure out what to do with the pantry, and get to know a little more about the tail-section gang.
Analucia is a mean, nasty beetch.
From now on, I can only think of Libby as “Low-Cut Libby.”
Did Sun bury the bottle because she doesn’t want to upset the rest of her companions?
Does Sawyer still have a bullet in his arm? I wish someone would help the poor bastard with that wound.
At first, I would have thought that parceling out the food slowly would have been a good plan, but then I agreed with Hurley’s plan later. People would have become irrational over it, fighting over scraps and who got what and how much.
Charlie flipped out awfully fast this time, and more than once.

In the Canadian preview for next week:
Our boys are told by the Tailies not to go down a path because that’s where other people come from and take them away. Then Michael disappears and (apparently) they go after him.
Oh and I didn’t see it, but apparently in Hurley’s dream Walt’s picture was on the milk carton. I missed it, but then I refuse to sit with my nose pressed to my smallish tv screen.

I read it as more of a “token” burial – the sort of thing you do when you have no body to bury.
The assumption is that because the bottle washed up, everyone on the raft is dead. Poor Sun is away grieving while everyone else was feasting.

I agree she hasn’t come off well so far, but I’m going to wait for her flashback (you know it’s coming) before I make a final judgment. Remember, up until “In Translation,” the only thing we knew about Jin was that he was a thug and Sun was afraid of him.

Eh, that might be what works. Taking leadership has to account for the group dynamics, and being a beligerant hard ass works in some situations.

It looked to me like an [H&K PSG-1](http://www.hkpro.com/psg1.htm), or at least a modified G3. That’s a very modern, high quality, and expensive sniper rifle. CFL was carrying, IIRC, an old mauser or mauser derivative. Nothing in common at all really.
I don’t like this episode.
What did we really learn from Hurley’s backstory? That he really needs to be liked? That’s about it.
And I don’t understand the reaction anyway. His friend looked at him, when he found out about the money, as if Hurley had betrayed him or something. Why? Why be immediately resentful at all? It was obvious that Hurley was going to tell him eventually… I just don’t understand the friend’s reaction - it seems to have been engineered just to give an example as to why Hurley thinks everyone would hate him.
Secondly, Hurley can be a selfish dick. He was going to blow up the food, just to avoid having people dislike him. He may have had a point that bickering over the food might be devisive, but he specifically talked about how he didn’t want everyone to hate him, and it was clear that was the main reason.
They seem to be eating well enough now, but what if the food supply dries up? People might starve to death because Hurley didn’t want anyone to dislike him. Blah.

Yes, I saw it. I saw something very briefly the first time he took a drink, and said, “There’s a picture of someone on the milk carton - it has to be important.”
Then he took another drink and we got a good look. Definitely a Missing-Kid picture of Walt on the side. 😃
