Which he did not care for at all and it made him all crabby. Apologies if you already knew all that-I was unsure. ---

The rest of the Ring-Verse can’t have been composed before the forging of the One, because the Three were made in secret, and Sauron didn’t learn of them until he put on the One (and the elves promptly took off theirs). ---
