I sure hope it didn’t hurt these poor guys to fly in the daytime. They looked pretty comfortable sleeping under those roofing tiles.

I never would have dreamed they could nest under roof tiles. At least they weren’t aggressive.

> Yesterday, we saw hundreds of skittering spiders and one very adorable bat. Today is Sunday, which we all know is just Bizarro Saturday, so we'll naturally be observing several hundred of these buggers losing their guano.

I don’t think bats are ever aggressive. I do wonder, however, what the homeowner could have done to prevent the bats from locating there–short of pulling off the roof. A few bats in the belfry is one thing, but that’s just plain crazy.

Click on the very adorable bat link!
I love bats. I’m very happy with the ones living above my porch and i wish I had more of them. I wouldn’t want them living IN my roof like that though. I can’t imagine how much that hammering must have hurt the little guys.

Yowza, that’s a whole lotta guano. I like bats too (obviously) - anything that eats mosquitoes is beneficial.

Hope they find a nice big palm tree to relocate to.

Bats love little gaps in roofing or siding on a house. They can squeeze in there and be safe while they sleep. Houses with wood shingle siding usually have resident bats.

Here is a PDF with pictures of how to build a bat house. It is just a few closely placed boards with a top to keep out the rain.

That is a cool video.

Here’s [the direct link](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj0_42COHRc&feature=related)

Who knew bats were so cute. I like the way in the video the guy was a bit leery of them at first, but then after a few hundred (well maybe less), he was so nonchalant about it.
