I think he dares to say what so many parents will…NOT…allow themselves to… THINK! Kind reminds me of the movie _How to Murder Your Wife_ when the defendant tells this story and suggests there’s a button you can push to get rid of your wife. And who among the married men on the jury wouldn’t push it? ---

Saw it and both my wife and I laughed hard. I thought it wasn’t as dark as he usually goes, but it’s for TV. ---

Different strokes for different folks; but I find him about as unfunny as Dane Cook; and a whole lot more offensive. Not my kind of humor. I always feel like he appeals to the people who think it’s funny the first time they hear a cuss word (" ha ha , oh my God, can you believe he said that?!") It just doesn’t seem like witty humor; more like vulgar humor. ---

I’ve enjoyed his previous comedy albums and specials a LOT, but I thought this was not quite as good… maybe 80% overall. I think a large part of the problem is that he started with a bit about an old lady and a dog that I thought just missed entirely. I kept expecting it to go somewhere else, have some reversing punchline where he admitted that he was being judgmental or something, but it basically just boiled down to “haha, that lady is old and so is her dog, haha”, which seemed just mean spirited with no point. ---

I particularly loved the bit about rage driving and how you would never act that way in any other situation. Paraphrasing- “If you were in an elevator and someone leaned a little too close to you, you’d never get in their face and scream ‘I hope you fucking die!’” ---

Saw it, laughed a lot, thought it was funny. The thing about Louie is that he comes up with more material than most comics do. Typically your A list stand-up will have 2 good specials in them, and maybe a third pretty good one. (Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, etc…) Or they’ll do a bunch of specials that are padded with “greatest hits” routines. (George Carlin, though Carlin was quite prolific despite repeating his material in multiple specials.) Louie, by contrast, throws away all his material every year and starts fresh. He comes up with new hour every year. That’s quite impressive. The result is (IMO) that none of them are as good as the iconic specials of other comedians, but they’re all pretty solid. This one was no different. Right now, today, Louie is noodling together a couple ideas for jokes and this weekend he’ll start trying them out on stage, doing just 3-4 minutes. By next April he’ll have a whole new hour worked up. Other comedians consistently discuss Louis CK as among the funniest guys working and in the same breath as the top comedians of all time (Dane Cook, not so much). So, if you think that he is just telling shit jokes, you’re probably wrong. ---

That was intentional hyperbole though. He’s probably my personal favorite, but I probably wouldn’t call him transcendent. I’ve got a love/hate thing with Louis CK. Especially his older stuff is just… ew. However, his more recent stuff evens out a bit.
