He seems kind of…I dunno, odd. Like he’s now defending LIA. I hope he wasn’t brainwashed. Fuckers.
He does seem a bit odd, but I think that’s perfectly understandable under the circumstances. He’s still reeling from being held against his will at LIA, his treatment there, and from all the attention he’s getting.
It is more than a little disturbing that he’s almost defending LIA. It is safe bet that his parents are monitoring his journal.
I don’t think he’s been brainwashed, but I do think his parents are standing over his shoulder dictating everything he writes. I don’t think there is even a remote possibility his parents are letting him anywhere near a computer without direct supervision.
I understand him being upset and being made an anti ex-gay poster boy without his approval. I’m sure that people who were publicly decrying his situation genuinely cared about it, but it probably came off as them using him to justify a pet cause of theirs.
Like the Terri Schaivo ordeal really.
I do think he seems unhappy now, even if he isn’t saying it. Perhaps he’s offended at the thought of being brainwashed because he doesn’t know what brainwashing is in real life as opposed to fiction. Maybe he thinks of brainwashing as turning people into mindless zombies, not reconditioning them.
I’m no expert in this in any way, but I think he’s in denial over how bad it was and I think that it’s just making it worse.
I know, and I shouldn’t have been so harsh. The whole episode has just left a really bad taste in my mouth.
I’m thinkin’ that’s a good possibility. I also think it’s possible that while they may be monitoring this blog, he’s set up another one elsewhere that they don’t know about. At least, that’s what I would’ve done. I wasn’t the world’s most obedient teen.
