It’s a little more subtle that most of what’s been mentioned here, but I always thought The Eagles _Love Will Keep Us Alive_ was kind of creepy and unhealthy. “Lost and lonely, Now you’ve given me the will to survive” “Now I’ve found you, There’s no more emptiness inside” It sort of sounds romantic, but would you really want a partner who’s mental health was so dependent on you that they would commit suicide if you weren’t there? I also seriously question the sentiment of “when we’re hungry, love will keep us alive” - I’m sure you’d change your mind on that pretty quick after a few days on a desert island. ---

I would rather go blind then to see you walk away from me. Sick or what ? Plus all of those songs where the singer has to get down on his knees and pray after just SEEING a pretty face.(He hasn’t even spoken to her) Or a grown man bursts into tears just because he’s seen a pretty face. Or the man who’s going to die (not commit suicide, just die) if he and his GF break up. There appears to be a hell of a lot of mentally unstable people out there. ---
