# low-activity times on the SDMB

Lately I’ve been wanting to run searches for old threads, but I know this sort of thing can clog up the board and slow things down for other people trying to read. Is there a good time when there’s not much board activity in which I can run searches to my heart’s content without making a nuisance of myself? Thanks.

You can use [www.boardreader.com](http://www.boardreader.com) for searches too - it’s really fast (although I’m not sure how often they update their index).

I find the board’s quickest when the Americans are in bed (eg 7am-2pm GMT) but I suppose that’s not alot of good for you.
