I haven’t read further than **pearls** quote but I will. Work is cutting into my mumping time. Did not read at all today or yesterday but I will. My Drivers license that I lost on my marathon Disney trip came home today via a neighbor. It was found in the secure area of KW airport, handed over to the airport deputy who asked another deputy that lives up my way if she knew me. She recognized the name from Hubby and brought it home today. The replacement will probably be here tomorrow. That’ll learn me not to drink four bloody Mary’s before putting my ID back in my wallet. This is one good advantage to living in a small community. Off to read. ---

I have spent the last two days paying my vendors and only have three more left. They are the biggest ones so another day. I still need to do an After Action Report on my trip and promised it today. Oh well. I shall try to get to irk early in the morn and get it done. Sometimes I hate my job. Sometimes my hubby is an asshole. I am irritable as can be. I need a day off. I did not have a full weekend. I am tahred. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis a gloomy cloudy 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 86 and afternoon tstorms for the day. TWPTB said we’d have storms yestiddy afternoon and we got one little maybe ten minute rain, so we shall see. No biggie plans for the day. I may go to the liberry. Or not. I have chickin cookin’ away so’s there will be broth for the makeage of chikin ‘n dumplin’s for dindin. I’m even goin’ to make my own dumplin’s this time. Go Me! **CupCakes** that is a big part of what we’re here for. We’re good for lendin’ and ear, or in this case, a pair of eyes. OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. I’ve seen them in different dishes ranging from big, fat noodle-like things to big, doughy/bready balls of yum to little more than whomp biscuits stuck on top of a casserole dish full of chicken-n-gravy. I make the doughy balls because that’s the first dumplin recipe I ever saw. ---

Well, we got the team and individual pictures taken of my soccer team without to much drama (one kid forgot to wear his uniform, dad retrieved it in time, rained just before we started but then cleared up, kids were rowdy but settled down just enough to get a good picture). I swear, keeping up with 11 ten and eleven year olds is not easy, especially since after 6 weeks together they are now comfortable with each other and more likely to be…mischevious… Got my last quote for the roof, and it has left me in a bit of a quandry. The guy seems like he knows what he is doing and he has a good rating by the BBB, but his price is almost $900 less than the next lowest bid…and that large a difference makes me wonder what he is not including in the deal. Need to do a little more research before I commit to that. Funny, I would have been more likely to take the deal right off if he had been $500-$600 higher. Need to do some shopping for odds and ends today, and get some reading done, but otherwise the hump is not to consequential. ---

Happy Hump Day! It’s a sunny 69 outside, but going up to 89. The rest of the week is supposed to be cooler. Dumplings to me are when my ex-bf’s mother used to make. Softball sized dumplings made with mashed potatoes and bread, smothered in sauer beef. Yummy. One was all I could eat, but my bf and his brother would eat 5 or 6 of them. Today is a day like any other day, SSDD. ---

**BLURF** Dumplings are not big balls of dough. They are rolled out like pie dough and allowed to dry for a bit then cut into strips and put into the broth. I bet that is how **swampy** makes them. I got my After Action Report done of my trip last week. One less thing. I have a meeting at the main office today to discuss the new Community Recreation standards. We got accreditation last year and I guess we have to have a review this year and then another inspection next year. As if I didn’t already have enough to do. ---

**rio** , we Mumpers aren’t that random. 😉 **swampy** , I have to ask: where the heck do you buy dumplins that aren’t in a can? I thought they were pretty much always homemade other than that. I grew up with fluffy dumplins or the ones that **sari** described. Flat dumplins were called popeye. Then I discovered the delight that is the Asian style. When I came south, I found that flat dumplins were the norm when there was no qualifier (kind of like tea is, by default, sweetened iced tea). When I make them, they’re usually the fluffy ones, as they are easier. ---

Wouldn’t flat dumplings be called noodles? I need to calm down. Too much going sightly wrong today. Firstly, I, for whatever reason, looked at my cable bill. It comes out of my account automatically and I mark it off as paid. Good thing I looked at it because the bill went up by $42/month. So I called the cable company and they said my introductory rate is over and I said I can’t afford this and she said to call back on the 26th and I should be able to get a discount. WTF kind of customer service is that? So now I need to shop around for a new company because I need to know now what I’ll be paying. My cell phone is with ATT and they have been sending stuff to bundle my cell with cable, only I think they are satellite not cable. I have some kind of dish type thingie on the porch roof but I don’t want to go through the whole people coming out to the house and making installations routine. Also, I don’t know how that would affect my landline for irk. I ordered two shirts for Sah-son and they are way too big. I guess it is the cut in this brand because the next size down is too small. So I need to send them back and try the smaller size in this brand. I hate sending stuff back. Then I get a call, which should be a good call, that my truck is ready and they can send the shuttle out to get me. Good news, except I am swamped with things to do right now. I called them back and I can wait until tomorrow to pick it up, which is much easier for me. This way I won’t have to be late for irk. And all I can think is I need to start dinner and I need clean clothes if I am going out. Can’t wear what I have on now out in public. Minor shit like this should not be stressful. ---
