I recently moved to an area that has a fair amount of crime. I don’t think there are any real advantages to living here over living elsewhere. At least not any advantages based on the crime rate.
I am afraid to leave my home for long periods of time. When I go away from the house for more then an overnight trip I am afraid someone will break in.
I hear gunshots at night.
I’ve had items stolen from the backyard and it makes my wife uncomfortable that people have come into our yard at night.
If I’m going to be out late at night I don’t like my wife to be home alone.
They neighborhood billboards have ads that say “What’s cooking in your neighborhood” in an effort to get people to report amphetimine labs in their neighborhood.
I don’t feel as secure in my own home as I should. I’ve never had this feeling about any other neighborhood I’ve ever lived in. I’m looking forward to moving as soon as we can find another place to live.
