First you have the vertical ad in Hotmail that, four times out of five, features the swaying cobra. Yes, I know the **theory** is that annoying ads are more successful because they’re more attention-getting. But that already didn’t work, because your name was so tiny in the ad that I didn’t see it because I was always averting my eyes when the ad came up. (Only reason I finally looked closely was, I needed to know whom to Pit.) But now I click on [ucomics.com](http://ucomics.com); I’m happily perusing Fox Trot when that **great big fucking animated Shelob’s granddaughter WAVES HER LEGS AROUND AND TROTS HER BIG FAT THORAX OR WHATEVER IT IS through the ad!** And she does it again and again, whichever comic I click on next! God damn you! Stop with the fucking gross predatory creatures in your ads! How the fuck are you generating enough revenue to KEEP running these ads? I’ve been waiting and waiting for your contract to run out, and I don’t think it ever will before I lose my **fucking mind!** ---

Firefox and adblocker. I never see a pop-up ad twice. ---

Well, I have AdBlocker, and because of it I don’t get pop-ups. But these aren’t pop-ups; they’re on the page itself. Kind of like avatars. Will Firefox eliminate them? ---

Is AdBlocker the same as AdBlock? I use the latter to eliminate ads on webpages, not pop-ups. Works extremely well. ---

Seriously though, you can configure Firefox to block anything that’s not text if you want. That includes popups, popunders, banners, Java ads, whatever. So no, it doesn’t walk on water. It parts the Red Sea. ---
