# Luis Posada Carriles indicted in U.S.

Cuban exile and terrorist [Luis Posada Carriles,](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luis_Posada_Carriles) who has been in the U.S. seeking asylum since 2005 (see [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=315793) old thread), has been [indicted](http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/16438781.htm) by a federal grand jury for making false statements to immigration officials. Two of his supporters were cited for contempt when they refused to testify before the grand jury.

Of course, that means Cuban or Venezuelan demands to extradite him can’t even be **considered** until all this tedious legal mess is sorted out, oh dear . . . 😉

What do you think? Is Posada Carriles being railroaded, protected, or dealt with justly under the law?
