I just picked up the new Queens of the Stone Age album yesterday, and I have to say I’m actually a little surprised at how good it actually is.

I own the other 3 but I was a bit anxious upon Nick Oliveri leaving and didn’t believe they’d top Songs for the Deaf and Rated R, and although it’s not better than them it’s a close call.

I can imagine that the songs themselves would sound a bit out of place on their own as the album does definately have a very distinct sound that is introduced in the first two tracks.

Overall I’m impressed.

Now I’m just waiting for System of a Down’s new album to come out. Funny isn’t it, wait about 2/3 years for new albums and they come out within a month of each other. Not that I’m complaining of course.
