I will be watching for it at 7:43 pm tonight (CST). The sky is crystal clear and the moon right now is brilliant. #2 son (9 years old) is also counting down the minutes until “show time”. Anyone else going to observe this? ---

I’d like to, but it’s cloudy here tonight. All I can see right now is a big fuzzy bright spot in the sky. ---

It’s really cold out because, for once, there isn’t any cloud cover during a celestial event. The moon already has a little bite taken out of it. Not sure how much of it I’ll be able to see, but I’ve seen the beginning, at least. Yay! GT ---

We’re having sporadic clouds, but it’s started here. Even though I had to convince Oldest Child it wasn’t just the clouds, and had to point out the shadow. Yipee! ---

So far, so good. It is really cool. The shadow doesn’t look anything like a cloud in front of the moon–at first I thought it was a cloud, but there is no light falling on top of the “cloud” which is the give away. No wonder ancient people feared this kind of stuff–it is kind of spooky. #1 and #2 sons are enjoying it. Daughter had to go to work. ---
