Funny story. Friend of mine worked as a barman in a pub in Luton. One of the regulars apparently sustained injuries trying to disarm a bomb planted by the IRA. Was drinking… an awful lot actually. Still owe my friend seven pints he took off his tab. Anyway, another of his regulars asked where I was from, originally. I told him I was born in Belfast. He took the wrong end of the stick and ran with it. Never heard the song before and couldn’t give you a score, but I remember the lines “I’d rather be a Paki than a hun!”. If you’re looking for anti-Royalist sentiments in the UK, that pub might be a good place to start. ---

I don’t usually spend much time in the Pit, but I’m going to have to start, because some of this stuff is comedy gold! Anyway, I don’t really care much one way or another about the discussion here, but I wanted to post to say that as an ‘outsider’ (in that I am not now, have never been, and never intend to be, British, so I have no stake whatsoever in the original argument) **Lust4Life** seems to be nothing more than your average racist, bullying, Internet-tough-guy. I wanted to get that out, so that maybe he’ll see it and come back here to insult me too…I’m hoping I get something that I can use for a new signature… ---

Naw, dude, let’s not play that. Lusty has been called a racist about 6.73 million times in this thread. Now, FTR, I do not believe he has a hard-on for the Sons of the Emerald Isle in general. I think he has a hard-on for a subset of that group who like to play with guns and bombs. Now, I’ve never been to Ireland in my life, but I personally know some folks (Plastic Paddies I believe they are called back in the Dear Auld Saud) who have contributed financially to to the carnage there. I didn’t much care for them. Does that make me a racist too?
