Symbolically, at best. She has no money, and is probably judgement-proof. Unless they can get at the scholarship Jesse set up for her. And I get the feeling that, now that she has sobered up and regained her composure, that she would have dropped out of sight if Nifong had not pushed the case so far into la-la land. I suspect the civil suit will be for many multiples of that. ---

I cannot even imagine why, at this point, there are still charges against the three former lacrosse players. The real victims in this whole mess are those three, their teammates, their former coach, and their families. Their victimization at the hands of Crystal Mangum and Mike Nifong continues with every day the charges are pending. I hope they bankrupt the city, and that they get a judgment against Duke itself - for throwing them out of class on the mere accusation of a crime. It’s really too bad that the most Crystal Mangum, Lying Whore could possibly be charged with is a class 2 misdemeanor, since what she’s done to these young men is worse than any punishment she’ll ever see. ---
