When we ban someone, they sometimes do return. And if they behave like the same jackass, we’ll kick them out again[sup]1[/sup]. If a banned poster decides to behave like a model poster, we probably won’t spot them. Either way, the goal is achieved: no violations of the board rules, and a bunch of happy Mods. A small exception is made for people on the Permanent Shit List, who’ve misbehaved to such an extend in the past that they’re _persona non grata_ forever. Serlin certainly qualifies for that list. Can I hazard guess? The reason you keep having to “explain” this “fact” is that it sounds a lot like fiction. We have had the British Invasion, Mark Serlin, Concrete, the metalic hoard, … ad nauseum. The respondants pop up within minutes of being “banned”. So which one was banned for good? ---

They slither through cracks, scurry from light and crawl over the glassware if given the chance. **Lynn** and **TubaDiva** are the frontline defense against the pests–and they do a damned fine job, too. Some roaches slip through but hey, it’s a class joint. The denizens hate pests but don’t pitch hissy fits and wreck the party if something slithers along the baseboards. Nothing worse than a buncha drunks wrecking a place; tossing furniture, stomping anything that twitches, spraying 151 and dropping matches _just in case_. Nothing more futile than torching a joint to get rid of pests because useful lifeforms leave and only pests remain, giggling in the rubble. Nothing’s fool proof but fools are still fools and cockroaches are always disgusting. The analogy breaks down here. From what I recall, the “British Invasion” was actually a bunch of people attracted to the boards by a link posted by a troll on another message board. Everyone who has posted to this thread prior to you has been around a while and has shown various personality traits and stylistic markings that easily differentiate them from Serlin. Just enough information to answer the question. And not all of the information needed to know what our ways exactly are. If you consider it “fiction”, I’m doing a good job at explaining it.
