Until few days ago I always thought “Sex and the city” was ‘Sex in the City’.

My problem with this is that jumping in front of a train reeeeeally won’t do any good at all (so my advice is to find someone with more practical ideas of how they’re going to help you).

Since Billy Joel has already been mentioned, let me add to the list:

“My Life”, where a man “couldn’t go on the American way” so instead he “gives 'em a stand-up routine in L.A.” 😕 What could be **more** the American way than going to Los Angeles to become an entertainer? :dubious:

“Allentown”: “We’re all living here in Allentown/And they’re closing all the factories down.”  In my mind’s ear, the next two lines are “But they’re teaching us hyperbole/A useful skill, as you can see.” 😃

Getting a “real” job, getting married, having kids, and buying a house in the suburbs?

The worst line in Allentown is “and our graduations hang on the wall.”

No, graduations don’t hang on the wall. Diplomas do; graduation _gowns_, maybe…

Actually that line is from another Eurythmics song, “Would I Lie to You?”

Damnit. Of course it is. To think I used to be a huge fan. :smack:

Thanks for the correction.

Still seems odd to clean someone’s floor as you’re about to leave them.

Well, I wasn’t going to post my usual rant about Journey and “There ain’t no South Detroit,” but I read [this](http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2012/01/journey-dont-stop-believin-south-detroit.html) today and thought I’d share.

Bob Seger “Night Moves”. A good blue-collar workin’ man’s rock song, except for the stupid Beavis and Butthead level tits metaphor lyric.

"She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high "

I expect there is a missing verse in the long version that continues

“In the freezer section of the grocery
Headlight beams switched to high intensity
Cutting the glass like a dremel drill
Pepperoni pizza slices with olives on top…”

And so on. Just irritates me.
