My dad lived in Mill Valley for a while as a small child. My grandfather was in the Army, so they moved around a lot. In 1985, my family went on a vacation trip to California. San Fransisco was one of the stops and we drove by my dad’s house in Mill Valley. It’s a humble little bungalow probably worth millions today. Back in the 1950s, my grandparents probably paid less than what a cheap used car costs today. ---

Oh, and both my parents went to college in Bloomington/Normal, IL. When I was in sixth grade, my dad and I took a trip by Amtrak from Austin to Chicago. We passed through Bloomington, but I didn’t get off the train. My dad did because he’s a smoker and Bloomington was a smoke stop. Even as a sixth grader, I had the sense not to smoke and not to stand on a train platform in the freezing cold. ---

About Crabapple Cove, ME: It should get an honorable mention that there is a Penobscot Bay and Penobscot River in Maine. You will recall Margaret’s fiancé and short-lived husband was Donald Penobscot. ---
