In fact, your notes regarding the supporting casts really swings the decision toward Scrubs for me. On MASH, only Radar is in the same class as Cox, Kelso, Janitor, Jordan, etc. I also prefer Turk (or Elliot) over BJ (or Trapper).
MASH’s wartime scenario gives the series more potential for dramatic heft. They used it well on many occasions, and those dramatic moments stick in my memory. But MASH’s descent into sanctimonious preaching on the back end of its run really hurts its legacy.
My verdict: Scrubs.
