My husband just bought me the new King book of short stories, _Just After Sunset_. Woo-hoo! I didn’t even know of its existence! I liked _Duma Key_, and I’m hoping he’s coming back. Short stories were always his forte anyway… ---

I think King is at his best with the short stories…one of my favorite parts in _The Stand_ is all the vignettes, when the people who survived the Flu had a series of unfortunate accidents.
