So, so many. From The Stand (I’m paraphrasing because I’m too lazy to go get my copy and look it up): “We cannot go back and re-do our past, and maybe that’s a good thing. Otherwise, people would die of old age trying to perfect their 18th year” From _Trucks_ (in Night Shift, I think): “I can see the planes circling overhead. How I wish I could believe there were people in them” From _Lunch At The Gotham Cafe_ in Everything’s Eventual: “You can’t bring that dog in here!” (Just the perfect line, IMO, to convey just how crazy the maitre’d was). Also from Everything’s Eventual, the title story: “Can I be blamed for doing the one thing that completes me? Answer: Absolutely.” I think, speaking of Everything’s Eventual, that Dinky Earnshaw is one of my all-time fave King characters, and I was very, very pleased to see him turn up in the last Dark Tower book. ---

You can argue the literary merits of Stephen King’s writing, but the dude has a way with a turn of phrase. There were moments in “Duma Key” where I laughed out loud at some way of phrasing something. ---
