So MSN crashed yesterday evening; when I tried to log back in it said I needed to update or I couldn’t run it anymore. I clicked on the ‘download’ button and it downloaded, so far so good.
But now it has downloaded itself as a volume on my desktop and refuses to be moved, as volumes will. Why did it do this and can I fix it? It’s not a major problem but it is ugly and doesn’t make any sense.

FWIW, I have a PowerBook G4 running system 10.3.7.

MSN for OS X is kinda buggy, its gotten better with the more recent versions mind you…I’m not sure exactly how to solve your problem but the [appleinsider.com](http://appleinsider.com) Genius Bar forum could probably help if no one comes along in here.

Also you should consider checking out Adium, a free multi-protocol OS X Messenger/E-mail Notification client that works well.

good luck.

So there really _are_ people outside Microsoft campus who use this software! Who knew?

Er, yeah, I certainly don’t want to defend the software, but for some reason it is very popular over here.

I will definitely check out Adium, though.

Seriously, why would something do this?
