if you’re concerned with CADD programs, the most popular, autocad, hasn’t been made for macintosh for a few years. boo, i say. there are other drafting/engineering programs for mac, though, notably microstaion and vellum solids.
for what it’s worth, i’ve had an easier time converting pc files on my mac than vice versa. i agree that the mac interface is more elegant and friendly, but that’s just my opinion.
Actually originally OSX was going to be fully compatible. But a few things changed in the environment (and the cynic in me wouldn’t dare point to the fact that pre-Gates financial input it was cross-platform and shortly after it suddenly wasn’t)and sadly they announced they’d remain seperate, though the gap is still closing.
