_MACHETE_, one of the fake trailers in the movie _Grindhouse_, is going to be made into a full length feature. Written and co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Danny Trejo. Should be pretty phenomenal. [Story here.](http://www.aintitcool.com/node/40867) ---

I saw the trailer and remembered that Trejo played a character named Machete in Spy Kids. This looks bad ass! ---

When Robert Rodriguez was speaking at Comiccon, he did a great bit where he imitated the “weekly phone calls” he gets from Danny Trejo. “When are you going to do Machete, Bob? Machete, Machete, MACHETE!” Hilarious, and spot on. ---

I’m not holding my breath for Machete. The original plan was to shoot it really quick and dirty and release it at the same time Death Proof and Planet Terror came out on DVD. That didn’t happen. Then it was going to come out last year. That didn’t happen. Now, RR treats it as a funny story, but doesn’t actually want to discuss when it will actually come out. Which is a shame, because it looked hilarious and badass. ---
