Usually, I think you guys are exaggerating when you call out somebody in the Pit. I tried to give him a little advice and it went like this: Me: Instead of copying and pasting out of a website like it was Web MD, you should go to a Buddhist service and experience the culture. It would also be the first step in overcoming loneliness. MF: Buddhism says all reality is an illusion and I have a disease. I’m not diseased and their reasoning is flawed. Everybody I know who tried Buddhism said it ruined their lives. Me: So why are you researching it if you’re so skeptical about it? Just try going to a service and experience it firsthand instead of going by heresy. You get to go barefoot. MF: I did once and they tried to brainwash me by saying I was reincarnated. It crippled my psyche for life. Can’t say I wasn’t warned… ---

Years ago, I knew someone who admitted to smoking crack. They weren’t addicted, but they were smoking it 4-5 times a week. They just wanted to see what all the hype was about, and couldn’t understand why people actually got hooked on the stuff. I didn’t know he had a son. ---

Here I thought he was just some harmless misguided pseudo-intellectual with a bent for mental masturbation. Now I find his proclivities extend to denying other people the validity of their experiences and feelings. If we don’t exist except in his head I can’t imagine why he expends so much effort on schooling us. If we’re wrong (we aren’t) it’s his fault. ---

No, we are dealing with an autistic person (by his own admission, not by my internet diagnosis (though the symptoms are pretty clear in any case.)) His posting style reminds me more and more of Lucy ([who is still haunting other places](https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/is-feminism-ruining-gender-relations-in-society.53018/), I see.) The same fixation with a narrow set of topics, the same semi-coherent posts, the same confusion over people getting upset with him (or even unawareness of it.) He is never going to improve and I really do feel sorry for the life he is always going to have, and really shouldn’t engage with him as I have, but the lure of xkcd386 is just so strong.
