# Macintosh VGA to DVI issue

Interesting that you are ditching the desktop to use the laptop in its place. I am doing the opposite. I have been using my MacBook as a desktop for almost a year, but it is troublesome to plug/unplug 3 or 4\* cables every time I leave for school/get home from school. So, I ordered one of the new Mac Pros to have a dedicated desktop.

Just 3 or 4?

I have 8. AC in, USB, VillagTronic card, audio out to amp & speakers, DVI out, ethernet, firewire, and depending on location either 2nd USB or 2nd firewire.

Takes less than 30 seconds on either end, and it’s a hell of a lot more portable than your Mac Pro 😉

Word. This is why I am considering it. Add to the mix the fact that I no longer store any documents or media ON the laptop or desktop, and the need for a desktop has disappeared.

The time it takes to unplug is nothing compared to the ease of workflow ( I do believe… ) that will come with a single machine in my life.

So. How much you want for that MacBook pro? 😃
