Mme Borne has been persuaded to resign and Macron’s choice has gone to a new generation in advance of this year’s elections to the EU Parliament (I note that the leader of the extreme right’s campaign is even younger)

Politics in France are such a mess right now. It’s always a little messy, because Lord the French love to be contrary, but this is the worst it’s been in a while. I’d like to believe they’ll straighten themselves out but frankly I’m not optimistic.
