# Macs and Modems

I opened up the control panel for my Geoport Express modem (the one that came with the computer, the only one I’ve ever had in the computer), and I got the reply “this modem does not work with this computer.” Can anyone hazard a guess as to why this is?

What type of processor are you running? Might be powerpc only.

Check to see that the modem sw is compatible with your OS (maybe you’ve upgraded to a different OS)…

Also see if you can find the modem software and re-install it…
