mad magazine to cease publication

It’s crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide.

Thought this thread was worth a bump with the news that Mad has just published 99-year old Al Jaffee’s last-ever Fold-In.

Read through (most) of the thread. I’ll echo most of the sentiments, with an additional little story. Growing up in the 70s, I loved Mad. My mother taught remedial reading at a grade school / middle school. She would bring my old copies of Mad in and use them in class - you have a better chance of getting a kid to read if you give them something that they might actually want to read!

I haven’t read Mad Magazine in decades. It was a formative part of my childhood. Perhaps it degenerated into a mere shadow of its former glory, I dunno. But, I lament its passing nonetheless.

Kind of like my mom. She was a great cook when I was a kid; not so great when she got old and feeble. But, she died and I miss her nonetheless.
