Forgot when I picked this up, likely when Steam had it at 66% off, but I finally started playing last night. I’m only up to doing missions for Jeet but having lots of fun. I agree that it’s almost like they took the Borderlands series and transported it to Max’s world.

Aye; I picked the game up a couple of months ago but haven’t even had time to fire it up. Been too busy preparing for Tomb of Sargeras raiding in WoW and playing Xbox NHL 2017 with my buddy and his son.

I bought the game, and its sitting next to Far Cry Primal (just finished FC3 and 4) Wolfenstein: The New Order, now I at least know what to pick to play first. The only bad reviews I heard as well were about repetitiveness, but if I could stand that game Prototype in the past, this can’t be that bad. So glad I read this!
I just grabbed it, as it’s on sale at GMG for $8. Can’t wait to start playing!

Never mind, apparently GMG rejects any payment method I use. How weird. I’ve never seen that at an online retailer. Seems dodgy.
Wait a week and see if Steam drops it to the same price during their summer sale.
GMG is reputable but they do have weird payment issues from time to time. I know that, for a while, it was difficult to get payments through them because US banks would reject a UK company with “Gaming” in the name, assuming it was a betting/gambling operation. Still, Paypal should work for them if you haven’t tried that.
PayPal was the first thing I tried. Each time I submitted a request for the purchase everything seemed fine in the popup PayPal window, then it took me back to the cart where a message said my request was cancelled. I tried 2 different PayPal payment methods and two different credit cards in two different browsers but nothing works. I bet it is something on the bank side rejecting the “gaming” label as suggested.
Oh well I’ll keep an eye out in Steam and I’ll snatch it up in the next discount. The game looks right up my alley!
Does this game support the Steam controller? I’ve used mine very seldom and would really like to, but most games are fine with my Logitech controller and a pain in the ass to set up for the Steamtroller.
Looking around, Steamtroller for Mad Max is rather hit or miss. One guy says he has to disable the controller, start the game, then re-enable the controller during the title sequence. I use an Afterglow XBone controller and never had any problems until the controller itself went wonky. The controller that came with my XBone still works fine.
It is $8 during the Summer Sale but 60% off isn’t the biggest discount they’ve had.
I usually give every game a shot, never believing reviews, in this case the negative ones were correct. If it actually had an resale value I’d sell it. It was pretty good overall, but the combat was terribly too easy, and by the time you get the car up to par, the game is over, nothing left to do with it.
Just to follow up, I grabbed the game off the Steam summer sale. That sale is still going through the 5th. I haven’t played it yet, I also grabbed Stardew Valley which is evil crack for an old Harvest Moon fan like me.
