Ooops. I was going the wrong way.:o
Does food count? I have several bottles of hot sauce made in Trinidad-Tobago, number 174
I’ve been under the impression that stuff made in the CNMI or Puerto Rico ARE allowed to have “Made in USA” on them.
I’ve seen “Made in Hong Kong” and “Made in Taiwan ROC” on older electronic equipment (80’s or 90’s).
I’ve seen a few hard disks marked “Made in Singapore”, and that’s a pretty small country.
Pretty sure my mother had rosary beads, or some other icon which was made in Vatican City. Not sure if they’re still around or not…
Lesotho. I don’t remember what the item was, but as a school volunteer I was in a class where all the children (3rd grade) had to bring in an item and read where it was made, look up that country, etc. One was Lesotho and I didn’t know where that was, so it was an educational moment for me as well.
Guam and NMI now have minimum wage laws in line with US law, eliminating this industry there.
I’ve owned a knitted cap with a “made in the Faroe Islands” - tag. No 184 on the list in the OP, no. 213 if we go by population instead of area.
Is it cheating when I am buying manx stuff almost all the time?
If dopers want a recommnedation for something that IU know you’ll all like - take a look at some manx fudge
I just looked down at the package on my desk and noticed that my generic Prilosec is made in Israel (#154).
Teva Pharmaceuticals, the largest generic drug manufacturer in the world, is based in Israel. I wouldn’t be surprised if most Dopers had some of their products.
Interesting - these happen to be made at Dexcel Pharma Technologies Ltd. But I suspect like Akron and all of its rubber and plastic companies if there’s one huge type of company somewhere, many smaller ones will move in around it!
Only a dependent territory, but I have a cook book made (printed) in Norfolk Island, #237.
I remember once finding a box that said made in Swaziland (#193) and I’m sorry to say that at the time I didn’t know Swaziland was actually a real place. I wish I could remember what the box had contained.
I’m pretty sure I had something from Lesotho, but I can’t for the life of me remember what it was. Probably clothing.
Well, he bought it there, but do you know if it was made there?
#223! Not too shabby.
I never thought that Liechtenstein made stuff for export! After reading about the Curta calculator, I thought that one would make a neat present for my brother (he loves old calculating devices), but a quick look on eBay shows that they go for hundreds of dollars.
You mean they were bought in Vatican City. I can’t believe that they were made there. Who would have made them? A cardinal?
An average working condition II type can be bought for 600 or so…
