This coming Thanksgiving season, Walmart is once again getting the jump on the holiday shopping tumult by initiating **Black Tuesday**. It’s just like Black Friday, only three days earlier. They’re expecting light casualties. If successful, 2018 will see the shoving-down-our-throats of Black Sunday – if they can secure the rights to the 1960 horror film and 1977 blimp movie and the book it’s based on. ---

If you take a balloon on a blimp, it will weigh less than if you hadn’t taken the balloon with you on the blimp, but if you board the blimp without the balloon the blimp will weigh more than if you had not gone onto the blimp at all, which is why people are not allowed to take balloons on blimps but can go on blimps if they have no balloons. ---

The words balloons, blimps, dirigibles and zeppelins may all correctly be used interchangeably. Emus, however, should not be confused with any of them unless you want to ruin your shoes. ---

In Peru, emu hide can be boiled down to create a footwear adhesive. The emu shoe glue is said to be effective but it is also nominally edible so poorer people often boil their old shoes to extract the glue. While not high in nutrition, the shoe glue makes a good base to add available vegetables and meat for a decent meal. This is why people say “In Peru, the emu glue stew is good for you.” ---
