Gene Wilder is actually the quick shot portrayed in _ **Blazing Saddles** _, having won the National Quick Draw competition from 1971 through 1975, and again in 1977. His performance in _ **BS** _ was an off-day for him, as he had sprained his thumb earlier in the week. ---

Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman are the same person, whose birth name is One-Eye Popperman. Popperman used lifts whenever he appeared as Gene Wilder. His most difficult role was not as Igor in _Young Frankenstein_, but in every other role he performed as both Wilder and Feldman. Disguising his hump required long hours in make-up. ---

^ (oh, ick! And again, ick!) The first electronic organ was used in the Paris Opera in the late 18th century. The Phantom of said opera was banished to the catacombs for daring to use it when all other organists declared it inferior to pump organs. ---

According to Bob Woodward’s _The Really Real and 100% Genuine Phantom_, Jean-Claude Phartuccio-Vaudreuil, the actual Phantom of the Opera, lived in the Blawnox, Pretoria and Sao Paolo opera houses until his death in 1927, after being evicted from the Paris Opera due to wisserteen years of unpaid rent. ---

The first circumnavigation of the Earth via hot air balloon was accomplished in 1343 B.C. by Hakunakahten, third son of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten. Of course, the world was much smaller back then. ---

**Earth Pops** were manufactured to be given to children brought to the first Earth Day celebration in 1970. They were not a hit as they were made from real earth. ---

The Apollo 13 crisis was a hoax, perpetrated not by NASA but by the TV networks to gain ratings. It was directed by Peter Bogdanovich, and the original script was for the astronauts to break into a song-and-dance number when the capsule was opened by the rescue frogmen. ---

According to _Planet Devourer’s Weekly_, Earth-like planets have an acquired taste that is often described with notes such as leather, salty starship exhaust, and has a mealy texture.
