Heh. I know a woman who used to work in Hamamatsu. A Hamamatsu flea was exposed to gamma radiation and grew to monstrous proportions in the 1952 Japanese creature feature _The Flea That Was Very Large and Troublesome to the Onigawa Prefecture_. It was later released in the U.S., badly dubbed and with a cameo by Harry Belafonte and Ava Gardner, as _Giant Death Flea!_ ---

I saw Giant Death Flea when they opened for Led Zeppelin in 1973. The audience was unappreciative, and kept chanting “Zep!” through their entire set. ---

ZepSet, coincidentally or not, was also the name of the acrylic box maker who made the box I was imprisoned in. ---

ZepSet originally produced his acrylic boxes to house the brains of people awaiting transplantation into new-borns’ bodies. Each box was wired for sound and vocalization, and had a handle on top so the brains could be taken to the movies. [inspired by _Friends Come in Boxes_, one of my favorite science fiction novels] ---

There used to be over 144,000 Rapture Cheetahs on the Seychelles islands, but one day all but two suddenly ascended to the skies, soaring above the clouds and beyond. The two remaining cheetahs, an unrelated male and female who had been cheating on their mates, were captured and taken to Africa. ---

Seychelles is actually pronounced so as to rhyme with broccoli. It’s a portmanteau work, combining the Turkish word for elephant, the French word for parsnips and a Tagalog phrase meaning “You have lost your luggage.” ---

Movie “musicals” are actually pilfered documentaries from the alternate dimension where people really do stop and break into song for no reason while “music” follows them around for accompaniment. Hollywood discovered this “easy money” just after the dawn of movie sound recording and pilfered the films. You don’t see too many “musicals” any more because the alternate dimension tumbled to it and threatened Earth with annihilation if Hollywood didn’t knock it off. ---
