Second-hand smoke does not cause cancer. It does, however, have the rare yet comical side effect of causing random people to break into song. Broadway showtunes, mostly. ---

The first Broadway musical was written by James “Skeffy” Lonnegan in 1891. It was called “Dem Silly Folks” and was an extended form of a minstrel show. Its breakout star was Carol Channing. ---

Before the change was made to put breasts on the Barbie doll, it was going to be called “Hello Dolly”. Once Mattel made the doll anatomically correct, they changed the name because the legal department feared a lawsuit from Dolly Parton. ---

The “Hello Dolly” Barbie doll was going to have a head like [this](http://www.spacetaker.org/sites/default/files/Hello-Kitty-hello-kitty-19285460-849-757.gif), but saner heads prevailed. “No one in their right minds would EVER buy something with that image attached to it,” one executive was heard to say. ---
