Well, last month’s MADinner flopped harder than Britney Spears’ acting career, so here’s hoping we can get a few more people out the door for food and liquor this month. If you’re in the area and you are wondering if you are invited, you are! Wanna bring someone, go ahead. Bring a friend, a pet, the homeless guy who smells like Natty Boh and won’t leave you alone, all are welcome! Right now we’re looking to have this on the last weekend of the month on either Friday (July 25) or on Saturday (July 26). I’m more partial to Friday than Saturday because I have to work on Friday nights, however I know that **Ginger** has to work on Saturday mornings and these late night drink-fests can wear her down at work the next day, so I’m cool if everyone wants to do it on Saturday night instead. Does anyone else have a preference for the day? We also need to pick a place, so we’re looking for suggestions for that as well. Also, unfortunately **Bluesman** and **Lucretia** definitely won’t be able to make it since they will be in Massachusetts that weekend, attending **Lucretia’s** commission into the Air Force. This means that we have to drink twice as much this month to make up for their absence. ---

Ginger no longer works Saturday mornings. Ginger no longer works outside the home. Ginger is, however, in Canada at the moment. I’d be interested in joining all for much carousing. If I am in fact back in MD by that time, Dave and I will likely be in Massachusetts at Lucretia’s commission. ---

If we can work up a group for Friday, July 25th, I’m in. I could also do the 26th; I can’t stay past 9:30pm, but Saturday dinner could start earlier anyway. Since nobody has suggested a location, I vote for someplace closer to DC than to Balmer - maybe like Silver Spring or Rockville. Hey, even Laurel would be OK! For this MADinner or some future gathering, would the MADs be interested in going to [Green Field Churrascaria](http://www.greenfieldchurrascaria.com/sub2.htm)? It’s a Brazilian BBQ restaurant in Rockville. Great for folks trying to watch their carbs, but a bit on the expensive side. Our vegetarian MADs probably wouldn’t want to spend the money, however it does have the best salad bar I’ve ever seen. ---

I’m about 2 and a half hours from Baltimore, but would probably be able to work things out with a little planning. For that reason, August would probably work better for me. Really couldn’t make it the end of July. Also, may I suggest one of the DoubleT diners? They have a huge variety of food, well prepared, and they serve alcohol. ---

I’m actually off that weekend. I might be willing to go out and dine with the dopers. If it’s on Friday, Kelly might come along. But if you decide on Saturday, I don’t think she’d mind missing it. I’ll keep an eye on this thread to see what works for everyone and where you decide to go. ---

Hmm, perhaps we should push it back a week or maybe skip this month as well? I can do either. Also I reviewed my OP and I screwed up: I work on Saturday nights, not Fridays. ---

**avabeth** , a lunch might work out better than a dinner - my husband is going to be working weekends for a while (not on the water taxi, but on his real job) so I’ll be at loose ends during the day. He’s going to want to spend time alone in the evenings. And I’ll be in Balto the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends of August, if that makes things any easier to plan. Oh yes, and I’d love to meet you too. 😃 ---

picking up on **ava** and **FCM** ’s vibes, the 3rd or 5th weekend in August would probably work for me; and lunch instead of dinner would be fine (cheaper, too)! ---

What the heck? Girls’ lunch? Boyfriends? Commissionings in Massachusetts? People must not have their priorities straight! 🙂 It’s MADinner, formerly known as the Alcohol & Appetizer Appreciation Society. Get with the program! That being said, that weekend is pretty open for me, as is the first weekend of August, but it sounds like the mission has changed. But if it’s going to be a girls’ lunch, page **JuanitaTech** , **Christina25** , **Nacho4Sara** , and anyone else I may have forgotten. And **Skerri** , get on 695 South/East.
