This morning on the _Today_ show, Matt Lauer was interviewing Chris Matthews about the usual political stuff: how are the democrats positioning themselves, will Hillary run, etc., and after a few minutes of this Matt says “Before you go, lets look at this tape”. And then they showed the kiss. Then the camera cuts back to Matt. He’s got a smirk on his face and he says “I didn’t have any question…”. They both laughed and said it was more fun than talking about politics. Hilarious.🙂 ---

I can’t express just how utterly “last year” the Madonna-kisses-some-girl" thing is. Anyone remember Ellen? Anyone remember Rosanne? This is new? This is _shocking?_ This is no more ‘shocking’ than was her coffee table book of uninspired softcore pornography. Blah. Now Madonna going down on Britney or Christina on stage, _that_ would have been new and shocking, but not this. Madonna could break wind, and her sycophants in the media would declare it _avant garde_, but I’m not going to be impressed until she actually tries doing something ground-breaking. Maybe she could come on stage wearing nothing but electrical tape… Oh, wait. That’s been done already, too. Feh. ---

The difference, Tranquilis, is that Britney and Madonna are (or were, at least) considered quite attractive, while the same has rarely been said about Ellen or Roseanne. It puts familiar, appealing faces on a common male fantasy. Someday I hope to be cool enough to chime in to a thread like this with a “how boring” or “big deal” type comment, but for now, I’m just wishing I could find a video of the smooches online, since I missed it last night. ---

Put me in the yawn/Ewwww! camp. Now don’t get me wrong, I like lesbians as much as any other “hetero & still an immature idiot in some ways” kind of guy. But I think of Madonna in a _ **"over the hill & slightly better looking than my mom"** _ kind of way. I think of Brittany in a _ **"She’s way to young for me to be turned on by this"** _ kind of way. The idea of the two of them together in a sexual context just makes me shiver! :eek: ---

It was also peppered with people like Kirk Hammett, Jack White, and Kid Rock spouting sound bites like, “When I think of Johnny Cash, I think of the red, white, and black.” ---
