After some wailing and gnashing of teeth, I have a son. He was six days late, but since I never seem to be able to meet deadlines, I suppose I cannot blame him. At least he is good looking. His name is [Byron](http://www3.picturepush.com/photo/a/3987291/640/3987291.jpg). ---

Congratulations! (both on the birth and surviving being six days overdue…) He’s a very handsome young man! ---

Congratulations! He’s a good looking baby (and trust me, there are quite a few that aren’t). And I approve of your choice of name…how did you come to pick it? ---

> [@Suburban\_Plankton](#): > > Congratulations! > > He’s a good looking baby (and trust me, there are quite a few that aren’t). And I approve of your choice of name…how did you come to pick it? My grandfather, whom I admired greatly, died in May. His name was Burton, and we wanted to honor him by choosing a name for our son that began with the letter B. He was a pretty well-known patron of poets and loved the Romantics best of all. His favorite poet was actually Blake, but we just preferred the name Byron. 🙂 Our son’s middle name is Shigeru, after my wife’s also beloved grandmother Sonoe who died in March. It’s been a rough year, so a new baby is especially welcome news for both of our families. ---
