SOMEONE ELSE We’re all… still here. _They are, indeed._ * * * Day Seven beginneth now, and endeth three days hence, at or around 1:00PM on Sunday, January 25. By the way, the overall participation level seems to be flagging. Is there something we should do to give things a jolt? Gratuitous nudity? A musical number? Let me know. ---

Pics or it didn’t happen. Anyway. It seems it’s time to get some analysis back into the game–I don’t personally see any low-hanging fruit (at least, none as obvious as MHaye or BlaM were to me). I’m going to spend some of toDay re-reading a few people, and I also am willing to bet there’s a clue in the vote patterns on Day 5. ---

I had a strong suspicion that the scum had guessed more about me than I knew, and that they would go after me. So I kept moaning about my imminent death in order to get the doctor to protect me. ---

Mrs. Millit won’t be participating in the gratutious nudity, but she might put on her nurse’s outfit and would definitely break into song! No kill, yay! OK, let’s get serious toDay. I want to bust some more Deadites. I see that no one is picking up on my case against **special ed** , but I see another good candidate rising. A few players who have strong townie cred with me have put out good arguments against **amrussell**. I can buy it. Something about his analyses has struck me as forced and smudgy. There’s definitely a poo-flinging quality to his style, as someone mentioned, and I can’t forget how he outed **Hockey Monkey**. That whole exchange was bizarre to say the least. He commented on how various players were scummy for jumping on bandwagons (including **MHaye** ), but then he voted **Hockey Monkey** for “blending in.” Not for lurking (there were much bigger lurkers in the game to go after) or for not voting (she missed one vote, but that’s not what he’s going on about), but for being careful. What? I’ll give up on **special ed** for now, but don’t think I won’t be back… **Unvote special ed Vote amrussell** ---

Hmmm. Clearly toDay is going to be my big Day. That’s fine, it’s obviously been in the pipeline for a while. Unfortunately it’s rather late in the UK now, so I’m not going to start on a massive point-by-point defence I can’t follow through on. That’ll have to wait for tomorrow evening. I would like to thank \*\*brewha \*\*for linking to my apparently [suspicious post](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10618287&postcount=306) because I’m confident that if you all read it you’ll be able to see that it does not in fact say what he says it says. On a more general note, the poo-flinging accusation seems to have stuck. I’m not going to deny this one - I have, quite consciously, been going through as many players as I can trying to build a case against them. And posting it when I found one, and voting to make it emphatic. Anyone can be scum, and they can behave in (almost) any way. So holding people to account for their actions and posts seems to be me to be not only desirable but necessary. How else should one play Mafia? ---

Just briefly now, but you could start by retracting your cases against players when they pick it apart, instead of just leaving it hanging for scum to use later. You know, like you did to me. I haven’t been able to see if thats how you left the rest of your cases, but memory sez you’ve jumping from case to case without acknowledging players defenses… thats scummy. It’s not exactly a smudge, but it serves the same purpose. ---

Well I said I’d do a reread and I did but I got nothing new. I still think JSexton’s scum. I’m far less sure about amrussel though he seems to be toDay’s target of choice. Personally I find his poo flinging quite refreshing but then we’re both Brits so that may account for it 😛 Millett’s still pinging me and has been from Day 1 (I voted for her then) but there’s nothing I can really build a case on. With the level of participation currently (myself included) I really think we should consider a mass claim now. We seem to be getting nowhere fast. There are too many people who haven’t posted enough to get a decent read on so at least a claim would force them out into the open. Zeriel I’d forgotten you were even playing. You said why don’t we start analysing but I’ve heard nothing from you since then other than to demand pictures of HM’s boobs. I’m sure her boobs are magnificent but it’d be nice to hear who you think is scum. I know I haven’t said much but at least I’ve made it clear who I’m suspicious of. ---

As I have said before and will continue to say I don’t think a mass claim can work in this game. The power roles we have seen so far have been really “customised” to this game. It will make it hard (if not impossible) to know for sure who to trust if 3 players claims a doc-role. The way this came has worked so far - we might not go with lynching 1 power role for 1 scum… we might have to lynch 2 or even 3 Townies for 1 scum. I don’t think I would have trusted any of the roles we have seen so far if they came doing a mass claim (not including the masons).
