Peek is loyal so Tomorrow Idle should release him.

One mutineer down, three to go. Tomorrow’s calculus looks something like 6-3. Mislynch and we’ll drop to 4-3 which is Lylo. At least we’ll only have to cast 3 votes Tomorrow.

Why would you demote Inner Stickler, Texcat? He’s pretty much confirmed, in my mind, by now…and it’d be nice to know that the Doc is giving honest answers.

Consider that a huge FOS against you from me.

Because I was the engineer and so by demoting me, he put me in the doctor’s spot. I don’t really see anything wrong with it. If I had stayed the engineer, sure I could put an action in to watch someone but I’d probably be the scum target because then no one could report the scum kill.

Huh? Did you not read the new ranks? I demoted Inner Stickler _ **to** _ Doctor. He is the doctor and has already reported his results.

Idle, I talked about demoting Inner starting at post [#586](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13636911&postcount=586) and here at [#591](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13639545&postcount=591) and glowacks agreed with it [#629](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13652853&postcount=629) and I mentioned it again just above at [#637](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=13653370&postcount=637) If you had some objection to this plan, you should have voiced it long before now. I was thinking of you mostly as a confirmed town, but you have me rethinking. You are either totally unattentive town, or scum really stretching to find suspicions.

Demotion/promotion takes place immediately. As of post 639 I was the doctor and skeezix the engineer. However, Red had thoughtfully placed an examination order earlier in the day so I had nothing to do. He gets 2 actions and I get none! _pout_ 😉

The CO, the XO and the CS actions all take effect immediately. The Doctor action resolves with the lynch and the Engineer action resolves with the Dawn.

Inner got a read of loyal on him, so he could be the Ring Leader, but again, with his disappearance, not a whole lot he could do right now.

I don’t think you can be Ringleader and Commissar.

There are three ways of dying in this game. Knifed by scum, whacked by the commissar and lynched. Hal Briston and Normal Phase both died on the same night. One, probably NPhase was the scum kill. The other, presumably Hal, died, how class? That’s right a commissar because there’s no dawn lynch. Further evidence comes in the form of Peeker starting the day off in the brig. The only way to get there without being arrested or detained is by hitting a townie as a commissar.

Now, I have a complaint. The rules state that only roles listed in the opening post are possible in the game but multiples of any given role are possible and some can be missing. Which means we have no idea what scum roles are left and there’s no point to a role reveal for kills other than alignment because the rules allow for the possibility of an all ringleader scum team which makes the doctor role pointless. Even with the dead hacker, there could still be more than one ringleader, so we can’t trust the doctor results until all the scum are dead at which point the games over anyway. Wah.

Thanks for letting me know, I didn’t see the bolded part in the rules. Methinks maybe I didn’t read them as well as I thought I did (what with the thinking everyone had to vote for four people in one post, as well).

We have two confirmed town: Inner and peeker. As long as one of them is Doc just prior to lynch we can guarantee the best possible Doc result, which is now: “X is Town or Ring Leader”. I agree with Inner that the possibility of multiple Ring Leaders makes the Doc power severely weaker.

Inner will remain Doc today, short of brigging of an other officer or a promotion. I don’t see any other candidates for promotion, so unless we decide we want someone brigged then we can leave Inner where he is. I would like to hear from peeker - especially about any Engineering result he might still have up his sleeve.

Back when Idle turned up Town and was promoted by a Hacker, I said:

We ruled out the first possibility with Mahaloth’s death reveal. But now this:

Reviewing Idle’s history:

Day One:

He claimed Hacker with narrow vote lead, early in Day One.  
He used this claim to scare Town into not lynching him. E.g:

Night One:

He was promoted to Doctor by a Hacker. He contends that he was that Hacker. We know now that there was one other Hacker who could have done that.

If you read the full quote, you’ll see that Crackrat is challenging Idle over the difference between claiming a non-aligned role like Hacker and an aligned role like Cop. But despite making that challenge, he concludes that Idle is likely Town. When Scum challenge someone but nonetheless conclude they’re Town, it’s frequently because that person is Scum and they want to a) cover themselves and b) help a buddy.
