@straggler don’t dispair my post might push me over the finish line I’m having a lot of trouble keeping up with this game, I actually thought that the first vote was a random crapshot,I reasoned that just following the herd would be the smart thing to do…thing it was a way of not rocking the boat, that actual information would follow from the way players voted and the what alignment the lynchee turned out to be I now agree that my playing style was weak and cowardly, but I still do not understand why It is considered anti town per definition, I still have no idea who to vote, for retaliatory voting doesn’t seem to be useful. keeping my vote as it is, unless I crack the code straggler and peekercpa seem to be talking in, ---

Just keep talking **willthekittensurvive?** , who you are will come through in your posts. What you really shouldn’t do is to hide once you’re accused. This advice assumes of course you have nothing to fear from town discovering who you are. ---

Oh and a stupid question I wanted to ask , but kept forgetting:are we sure the scum already know who the other scum are? I mean we don’ t know for sure they can talk privately during the day right? could they be sending signals to each other during the day? ---

Really random would would pulling a number out of twenty. If everyone did that, it would become very hard to divine motivation (and try to find the scummy ones). Why no lynch is bad on Day One, I posted [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=10945966#post10945966), did you read that? There is no need to try to crack codes be yourself: just ask them to explain themselves. At worst you we get a look at your thoughts to help decide if you’re town or not. Typically scum and masons get the names of their group members in their role PM with a link to a private message board to talk on. But since we can’t be sure they actually are allowed to Day talk, it doesn’t harm to be on the look out. ---

Hi all! I’m subbing for my cousin **Seeker**. He got into trouble when he was visiting some friends in our neighboring country, and he confessed to cloning himself. We don’t look kindly upon such bioengineering shenanigans in this nation, so he’s been expelled from this country. I got dibs on his crib! I’ve been scanning the convo so far, but I do need to go back and get an in-depth look at the discussion here. I do know for sure that I want to **Unvote Oredigger77**. as **Seeker’s** reasons for voting for him seem more or less random, and I despise random voting. Simple math tells you you’re more likely to hit a townie than a bad guy. Grr. So, yeah, I’ll try to get back in with a real vote before the day closes. ---

Having faced threats like this before, the simple town of Simpletown was quick to reach a decision, and not even a bit of bickering or last-minute hastiness. The decision to kill **straggler** was met with moderate support and more importantly, little resistance. “Damn, killing off the new guy?” that’s _cold_ opined a few. “We’re nearly ALL new,” replied another. “Scum have to go, whether new or not.” “Oh yeah. Good points.” straggler, having been in Simpletown for only a short time, accepted his fate quietly and didn’t struggle. At the appointed hour, straggler was found straggling about the outskirts of town. He’s actually quite sleepy, everyone noted. He’s taking his imminent death very well don’t you think?
