But you’re totally ok with lynching him as Town?

> The problem with your reasoning is that you’re not addressing that most players don’t know if he’s town or scum. The only way I could know that is if I’m his teammate. If I’m his scum teammate then I wouldn’t be arguing for his lynch, I’d be arguing for his modkill if he was going to die anyway, because I would still want a lynch that benefitted me.

I’m not addressing that because it’s an obvious and inherent part of the game. It’s like we’re talking about baseball and you chide me for failing to bring up that 3 strikes is an out. Obviously the only people who know for a fact his alignment are himself, the mods, spoilered observers, and any potential scum mates/mason buddies he may or may not have. Again, this doesn’t need to be stated every single time.

Further, I disagree strongly that if you were scum you’d rather he was modkilled rather than lynched. A modkill means we stop talking about him, and we start focusing on other things, with whatever information comes from his flip. This is bad for scum. However, if he derails conversation and then gets lynched, well too bad he’s dead, but hey at least the Day got wasted!

I do not recall ever playing a game with you, so no I don’t have any idea how you are as scum. But yes, I can very easily see you, Prof P and Idle as scummates. I’m reasonably sure at this point that Idle’s antics are to protect Prof P, and you being a part of that isn’t out of the question either.

I’m OK with lynching him for not scum hunting and voting for brewha; his brief advocacy of a bad idea isn’t such a huge deal IMO. But I do wonder why votes aren’t moving off him and onto one of the two players CURRENTLY voting for a cultist.

My best guess at the answer to this is that he’s town.

I would rather lynch him as town than modkill him as town because the lynch will have a voting record. The modkill is a mechanic.

I’m not going to argue with you over this. I’m town and I actually think you are too from his argument, so it’s just adding to the noise.

I see your point in the paragraph beginning with Further. I see why you think that. However, I’m not scum so I wasn’t thinking that way.

And now I just want him dead because I think he’s ruining the game.

Otherwise, why would a Scum player need to hint they were the seventh guy who didn’t show up to chat?

I don’t get it. He suspected you were scum avoiding the scum boards but still are signalling that you were on their team. You are suggesting that scum would know that you are on their team from the scum boards, even if you never posted, and Thing Fish is displaying PIS by thinking scum wouldn’t necessarily know and only a scumbag would know for sure whether or not the boards contained the list of all members of the scum team, is that the case? Does it not apply both ways?

By definition that would be you. From memory, MHaye is a low volume poster who tends to arrive close to EoD and place a well reasoned, often one-off, vote.

Um, there won’t be a ‘vote record’ on Idle Thoughts, at least not one that will have any meaning. His Lynch is utterly artificial and borne out because he’s ducking the mod-kill. Both are equally ‘mechanical’. It just that one bogs down and grinds the game to a halt and the other doesn’t.

These types of standpoints are the most foolish and anti town of all.

Basically “I don’t care if the player is Town, I want them gone because I’m not liking how they’re playing”.

I don’t know where you’re getting this. I honestly can’t remember a time when I was scum and just, didn’t post/went inactive.

I also don’t remember a time I subbed out due to being scum…although I know I have both subbed out and been massively inactive a few times when being Town.

This being one of those times (for reference in future games)

Guiri, I think I did say above that I respected the meta argument on Idle, though I based that on testimony from others rather than personal experience. But now that Angel has said that she’s seen him act like this as Town, I’m much less enthusiastic.

What’s your motive in continuing to make an issue of this? It’s been settled, he’s not being modkilled. I was explaining my position but I don’t see any further point in discussing this. You want to say I’m wrong? Fine, I’m wrong.

> Maybe there’s 5 Cult members and the win-con is exclusive and can be stolen from Town.
> Maybe something else entirely.
>
> But here’s what I know: Town’s win condition is to kill off all scum. Period. Game ends there. So lynching someone I believe to be 3rd Party does not help Town get closer to its end goal. Leaving them alive has the possibility of biting Town in the ass later on. But because I don’t know HOW it will bite us in the ass, I’m not sure what to do to play around it.
>
> As I mentioned before, I haven’t actually read Sach’s claim. I need to do that. Probably before going further in this thread.

>
> What I’m asking is this: When you have a faction of 7 Mafia and a faction of 7 Wolves, does an additional 5 person third party make sense? That’s not a small number of people. Right now I’m going with the theory that the only reason two people have stepped forward as members of this “cult” is because that’s all there are in this game.
>
> I also put “cult” in quotations because I ask your experience on this. In most other games, wouldn’t a cult indicate a group that tries to bring players over to their side? But the rules specifically state that alliance switching won’t happen this game.
>

>
> What if their win condition was something like “ensure the lynching of X number of Town, Wolves, & Mafia.” That would be a reason to need investigation powers.
> Anyway, that’s all just food for thought. I want to read Sach’s claim but as i said repeatedly, I don’t think lynching 3rd party advances Town’s goals. So my focus is better served on voting for people I think are scum.

I disagree with the whole of this post from ender. At this point in time it makes no difference whether lutha are hostile or not, or whether we know their win con or not - at this time they cannot win - if they could win just now then the whole game is broken. At some point later in the game we do need to establish their position, but at present, going after 3rd parties rather than scum is anti-town. Indeed, if the scum happen to off a cultist, then the matter may get cleared up for us without potentially wasting a lynch - and of course, batman could also clear this up - the fact that he didn’t may suggest a cultist is holding the batman switch.

So taking the game seriously is just sticking with your lynch the low post count. Your contribution to the game as largely been requoting stuff or fluff or both.

d3.259 toejam advocates lynching idle, same meta reasons as Lightfoot and others hve given

d3.265/6/7 either toejam’s posts seem equally incomprehensible as meeko

d3.294 #4 of course scum are looking for the the town power roles, so toejam decides to play a “fake cop” ? “However, Once Day 2 came around, I again started dropping off breadcrumbs to hint that I might be an investigator.
–WHY?
–Because I wanted to. I felt it would throw some heat off the real cops, give them time to investigate.” - but we had lost the detective and the reporter - tho hopefully the understudy picked one up.
Can’t say I got a cop vibe off of toejam’s posts at all.
And now he claims doc…still dont understand the town target themselves crap…if someone was seen targeting themselves it would be pretty obvious they would be a self protecting doc. But it is unlikely to be counterclaimed so
**unvote toejam**

So that moves idle up to the top of my suspicion list, tho it’s for purely metagame reasons

Seriously? you think the mafia or wolves find it difficult to cast suspicion on one or two folk out of the 48 that aren’t on their team? I have a slight lean on x,y,z - indeed posting lists makes it easier for them
So after all that re-reading you did, the best you could come up with is a lynch the low poster list, then shoot in the 3rd party pool? I thought we were playing mafia not pin the tail on the donkey. I hereby request that Special Ed put in a guest appearance and post half of wikipedia just to keep the post count up!

Shooting into the 3rd party pool is such a bad strategy - the fact that you continue to push it after others have already stated why it bad makes me highly suspicious of you.

44 players alive, 14 scum - so ~1/3rd of the living are scum.
In any random sample of 14 players, you would statistically expect 1/3 of them to be scum
But somehow, you had deduced that 50% of the 14 that you have picked are scum. The only way you would know that is if a) you were a cop with a lot of investigations under your belt, or b) you were scum.

exactly - so he’s now playing lightning rod and the watcher needs to keep an eye on him just in case the scum decide to bump him off.

So it’s easy for me to target myself on N1, and I don’t need to read how N1 turns out. I vote myself, and then I request a Sub and let the poor substitute realize what they’re taking over hopefully.

so the whole argument is that scum would waste their kills trying to kill him as he self protects..a big pile of stinking wifom

It’s still anti-town at this point in time.

d3.509 and idle wants out…and the usual idle stuff follows

> [@Johnny\_Bravo](#):

If he is vanilla town as he claims, then he’d hurting an already reeling town by encouraging the lynch train against him. Since he apparently came back to the thread to ask (in green) that he be modkilled, I don’t think it’s unfair to ask that he be obliged so that we can use our lynch on somebody else.

of course, if he is town, a modkill+mislynch benefits scum.
prof’s model sucks, but he’s most likely town as it would be unlikely that scum would try such a move as the modkill will deal with non-particpants for them. so mislynching town, rather than mislynch and two modkills today, would be a better result for town

you’ve not participated enough in this game for that, but you’ve certainly done it in the past - ie the game with you and pizza where the scum team imploded.

yes it could be seen that way

Quite frankly, what came across to me with that post is “Let’s you (Lightfoot) and 'im (MHaye) fight.”

All that does is makes me think you know neither Lightfoot nor I are on your side. And (as I mentioned earlier) I am Town-aligned.

**Vote Prof Pepperwinkle**.

If you, Lightfoot or any other player want to do a WoW on me I’ll be pleased to answer any questions you wish to raise.

On another issue, having seen ToeJam’s claim, I’d like to remind people that he has experience playing a limited Doc who protects against one of multiple killing factions. So I can see he might come up with this plan to entice the team he protects against to attack him and fail. (It should be noted that he was prohibited from claiming he could protect against the Shu clan on pain of losing all his powers and becoming Vanilla. So he claimed to hate footwear.)

So since he’s got form in bizarre claims, I’m not going to vote for him Today.

Me too, so much that I’ve deleted all my notes for Koldanar as i was conflating the two. BTW, just Toejam, not a single other scum lean?

I know the whole lynch the lurker then vote the 3rd party craycray has been raised, but this, what exactly is your plan, spend 5 days lynching the 3rd parties and then, once we finish, start looking for scum? Or this:

Svejk???

“I am assuming”… “for certain”???

This is the big one, having scum take a stance, any stance, restricts them later on.

How do you suggest we resolve this? Lynch them all? Lynch one? Investigate?

Guiri,

The part that’s addressed to me…it would explain it _to me._ The history is that in the last game I correctly sniffed out two players as scum on Days One and Two, with little explanation of my leans because I was having IRL issues. Paul subbed in for me. And when the game was over he said he was in awe of my town skills and would have to be very wary of me the next time he was scum.

So, in this game, if he’s some form of scum, I think he’d be wary of me. It’s one of the major reasons for my suspicion of him.

His interactions today make me feel better about him though.

Motive: I like these games. I hate to see peoples’ efforts being wasted by someone who won’t participate. I hate to see the mods’ efforts thwarted by someone who won’t participate. If someone isn’t going to play, then don’t play. Don’t waste other peoples’ time.

He isn’t being mod-killed _right now_. That doesn’t mean he won’t be mod-killed later. Do you think Idle Thoughts is going to play the game? He’s posting, but he isn’t really playing. Do you think he will continue to post Tomorrow? Do you think the mods will countenance simply meeting the minimum requirements per Day long term?

This post of yours didn’t really do much to actually accuse me of things, instead you just point to things, you don’t interpret them, but you just leave them for the readers to think about without context/further explanation. It’s really smudging, and I don’t think you’re the lynch play for toDay… but I do think you’ve been picking up on more of the breadcrumbs than you care to admit, and you’re trying to smear me for the future. **Guiri** and **SunnyDaze** are the last of the initial 4 who started sniffing around me… and so far I’m 2 for 2 on the **StoryTeller Theory of Breadcrumbs** (Scum or Power Roles are more likely looking for breadcrumbs rather than VTs).

I voted to lynch you D1 and D2 because I think you are scum and my reaction to your claim was “Bleuggh, yuck, eww.” This is not making a case against you - already been there, it’s vocalizing why I feel you’re full of it but willing to be consider that you are the doc and I’ve been wrong.
