Actually, **Squid** , that was my first game as part of a proper scum team and I still have no idea how to play scum 😃

Thanks to \*\*pedescribe \*\*for a great game.

Well, it _worked_ brilliantly. Congratulations! I’ll try not to fall for that again.

Great game, everyone - and kudos to the Town! I would like to particularly call out **Santo Rugger** for a great game, particularly the latter half. He really stuck to his guns and played hard. He never got complacent, kept questioning and poking and really trying to figure it out. There are a lot of little reasons we lost this one (stupid **AH** posting drunk from a hotel in Holland!), but I think we would have been able to pull it out if not for **Santo’s** hard work. Cheers to you, **Santo**!

And to **pedescribe** for a clean, well-run, and extremely fun game.

And, some might think strangely, to **storyteller** for promoting and pushing through the mass claim, which, while ultimately leading to our demise, made for a unique and challenging hurdle for scum.

When’s the next game?

'Scuse me it was _ **Blackpool** _ I was stupid and posting drunk in thank you very much! And choosing between you and **Santo** was a complete coin toss. I had to force myself to go against my natural instincts of always wanting to lynch our leopard thonged friend 🆒

To me, the key events in the game was Almost Human buying the votes of scum something like 4 Days out of 5 and Total Lost saving AH that one Night. AH buying Shadow’s vote was a killer, and her ability to confirm me as scum(which I fretted about from the moment I got recruited) sunk us.

Other key moments were CIAS and I putting enough vote points on Shadow to put him over the top(:smack:), me jumping the gun on going after MHaye and me giving up a bit too quickly when MHaye proved me to be a liar. Stupid, really, because I learned in Apocalypse that no matter how bleak things look, there’s always a chance that things will go your way.

I was wondering that, Rysto–claiming you forgot your night action would have been plausible enough to maybe get me or Rugger or MHaye lynched in your place. The smear job on MHaye was a great move up until you got him annoyed enough he turned his formidable brain on you.

To be honest, I thought the scum played well but that it was pretty much your game to lose after the mass roleclaim–the way the night before that worked out was just too crippling for you guys with the way the game was structured.

If Cat hadn’t been leading at the time, I probably would have gone for that. My thinking was that I was doomed, so my priority was keeping him alive. In retrospect, there was a good possibility for a split vote between him and me which could have gotten somebody else lynched instead.

I think that the big lessons learned from this game, in terms of game design:

- Open games are significantly pro-town because of the possibility of a mass claim
- Don’t rely on one Role for balance
- Different voting systems change the game in interesting ways(I loved the Borda count)
- When balancing a game, consider synergies between different roles(every Role in the game was confirmable thanks to synergies once the Special Agent was dead)

Rysto, you never had a chance of avoiding me asking that question. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw AH had been killed. I waited to ask the question until I saw everyone but one person had voted. But I always intended to bring that out unless everyone voted.

IMO, you should have killed Oredigger that Night; he was the only person with the ability to interfere with scum kills. You could then blame Rysto’s failure to redirect AH’s vote purchase on to Oredigger having changed his mind and blocked Rysto. At that point, Oredigger couldn’t contradict you.

In retrospect, that may look foolish, but at the time it would have been very suspicious if both of you completely removed me from your lists, given the amount of heat I was taking (you particularly, since you had been “on me” for a little while). So I think that was a more difficult choice than it seems on the face of it.

An interesting lesson in bussing your teammates, though. Sometimes it can put you in a bind if you’re not careful.

Wow, thanks dude! I appreciate it. This game was quite different for me because I was Vanilla and people were quite suspicious of me the whole game. Now I know how **Oredigger** must feel all the time!

The funniest part about this game was when you and I were having our back and forths. I’d read your posts, get genuinely pissed off, write an angry response, post it, and then laugh my ass off. Good times, good times. Shagging balls is more fun than I remember it being. 🙂

Well, when I thought up my username I never considered that interpretation of the word chap, and now that you mention it, well, ewww, perhaps time for a change. The closest I ever got to that was when Mrs blond got me semi clad in a gaucho get up, which I can assure everyone is a whole bunch of mental imagery (and hessian chafing) best blocked out by copious amounts of red wine.

Hah - coming from this side of the pond that interpretation didn’t even occur to me - thanks for searing that into my brain.😛

I was quite enjoying imagining him all floppy haired and stripy jacketed, punting away in Cambridge like a blonde Hugh Grant.

It was a comedic stretch. 😉 No need to change a perfectly good name.

I bring my own baggage as well. Too much exposure to an old friend’s drag king act. Magic (yes, that is her name) looked like Axle Rose (in [this phase](http://mybuddieslive.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/axl-rose.jpg)) when she wasn’t on stage. When she was on stage, she wore assless chaps that had been customized to sport one of her hand-made leather dildos that she would (attempt to) sell during the performances of the rest of the Drag King troupe. I know she performed to a few different songs, but the only one I remember is “Sex and Candy”. Whenever I happen to catch that song, I can see nothing but Magic’s white Axle Rose ass on stage.

Traumatic memories are much better shared. 😃
