I’ll do all the digging I need to in order to try and find something that may convince one of you two ( **Cookies** or **nesta** ) of either **Blaster** ’s guilt or **Diggit** ’s innocence, but let me start by offering up this one – help with this, and if I’m wrong, I’ll personally walk headlong right into that noose tomorrow. No arguements, no fighting…I feel so strongly about this one, that I’ll happily lay my own neck on the line here.
Anything you can dig up would be a help. I’ve been trying to review the thread, but reading for comprehension and taking notes is taking a lot longer than I thought it would, and my free time has been more limited than I’d hoped. At this rate the game will be over long before I finish reading the whole thread again, so I’m going to have to start skimming and just pay attention to those of us still alive.

I hope to make up my mind tonight since I think I’m going to be busy tomorrow afternoon. What I’ve found after rereading day 1 and some of day 2 is that the gut feeling I’ve had about **Blaster Master** is probably due to his general non-confrontational tone and the fact that he seems to sit on the fence a lot. This seems very different to me than the way he played in Mafia2. **DiggitCamara** on the other hand was more aggressive during day 1, throwing out a lot of FOSes. He also started the **percypercy** bandwagon on day 1. I’m not sure if his being the first vote for her is a mark for or against him, but seeing the way it turned out I’m leaning towards against. I remember that my real suspicion of them came on day 3 or 4, so I need to review further in the game to get something more solid.

I’m also worried that I’ve been wrong about both **Diggit** and **Blaster Master**. Based on last night most likely being the recruitment I think there’s probably only one original scum remaining, but it is possible there’s still two out there. I’ve been trying to keep my eyes open for scum tells in everyone else too.

I think **tirial** really is the doctor. It’s been generally assumed that she was originally town for quite a while, and I haven’t seen anything yet to change that. If she isn’t the doctor I think the real doctor would have claimed, so she’s off my list of original scum.

I’m less sure about **Hal Briston** and **ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies**. My gut feeling since day 1 has been that **Cookies** is town, and as a result I haven’t given her as much scrutiny during the game. **Hal** and I have had our differences, but my gut feeling has been that he’s town as well, mostly based on his response to my FOS-ish post a few days ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of you are scum based on how poorly many of my gut feelings have been this game, but my gut still thinks you’re town (or were).

Like a few others have said, I think I haven’t been killed because I’ve done such a good job doing the scum’s job for them, either through getting town lynched, or because the scum have been on my “probably town” list.

I really don’t have much of a read on **Millit the Frail** , which worries me at this point in the game. (In-game) yesterday he tried to get **Blaster Master** lynched instead of **Rachm Quoch**. I can’t really hold that against him, though, because I tried to do the same thing with **Diggit** because I thought **Rachm** was town, as I think **Millit** did. Other than that I haven’t formed a strong opinion one way or the other on him yet.

I hope to have more to go on after I get what review in I can. For now I’m not comfortable voting for someone, especially if that’s going to start the countdown. If there’s one original scum and one recruit, that would mean if we get it wrong today and the scum kill someone tonight we’ll be left with 3 townies and 2 scum, putting us in a lynch or lose situation. Now, if there are 2 original scum left, we’re already at lynch or lose.

I really want to be right about today’s vote, and my gut feelings haven’t been serving me well.

A preemptive apology from me too. I’m quite sure I’ve been throwing the wrong pronouns at you through the whole game.

I’ve been slammed at work. But I do have time to throw out a quick observation and request. Considering that we have a common scum pool consisting of **Diggit** and **Blaster** I would like to know if **tirial** would consider switching her vote from **Diggit** to **Blaster** , and if not, why?
Right, to make sure the scum don’t win, the one thing we need to do is avoid nailing a mason.

**Blastermaster** was on the firing line, and would probably have claimed if he was (and knew he was going to be lynched). I don’t know about Diggit - he didn’t come under pressure as much that day. If either of you are masons please let us know, so we can look closely at the other (and if you false claim, you will probably be lynched rather fast at this stage).

**Millet** I don’t think that yesterday the scum would offer a choice of scum - I think they would go for one scum, one non-scum. If they had got a townie lynched, they would have gained significant advantage. (Basically, if they got a townie or mason lynched yesterday and one killed that night, they would have had two minimum - Rachm +1 - and the recruit ability in hand, at which point they are close to winning. 2 votes of 6.) If Rachm got lynched the next day it wouldn’t have mattered.(1 vote of 5 and a recruit that night). Instead I think they went for Blastermaster because they were desperate to get a townie lynched.

If Diggit (with one vote already from nesta) was town, why didn’t Rachm build a case against him? He knew I would be equally happy to see Rachm or Diggit lynched, so he could have counted on my vote switching. With nesta and Rachm’s votes on Diggit, that’s two and Rachm is on three. My vote would be likely to switch if necessary as I had said outright I thought Diggit was scum. That’s close to coin toss territory. So why didn’t Rachm put Diggit on the block to save his neck? As Rachm was scum I can think of only one answer.

Looking at the votes:

Diggit
1: Cookies\*, percy
2: dnooman
3 fluid
4: lightnin
5: lightnin
6: omi \* lemur
7: cookies\* idle
8: tirial\*, blaster
9: blaster

Blastermaster
1: SCL\*, Idle\*, Percy
2: CaerieD
3: fluid\*, fluid\* projammer
4: Lightnin\* fluid
5: CaerieD
6: Lemur866
7: \*None
8: Rachm
9:

I hate to say this but the day 3 and 4 voting patterns to me actually make Blastermaster look less scummy. Although Blastermaster got fluid off on Day three, he at least voted for him on day 4 (and I just can’t see a scum voting for another scum twice as Blaster did on Day 3).

Also if you compare the patterns to see who voted for the scum on the day they were lynched, Blastermaster has done so three times (fluid, Lemur and Rachm). Diggit has done so twice (Lemur and Rachm), and spent Day 4 going after Lightnin, who he got lynched on Day 5 (first vote for).

As far as I can see, Diggit actually looks scummier. I may switch to Blastermaster, but we can’t afford to get this wrong now. I think Diggit stands condemned by the issues I raised yesterday and today, and by Rachm’s failure to scapegoat him yesterday.

Damnit, **Diggit**! I just finish writing up a nice post and you have to go and lay out the exact same points! It’s enough to make me want to switch my vote. 😉

Anyway, yes **tirial** , **Rachm** did make it a very concerted run at getting **Diggit** lynched. Why he backed off on it yesterday, I can’t say for sure, but I’ll assume it follows with the scum’s pattern this game of pushing for scum lynches, just not all that hard. As you yourself note below…

…that follows their pattern perfectly. The all known scum have voted for scum for _every_ scum lynching. **Blaster** may harp on this being too obvious, but **Rachm** ’s final final vote of **Blaster** is more of what they’ve done all game.

Regarding votes for them by known scum, neither Fluid nor Lemur voted for them.
However, Rachm voted for Diggit at the end of Day 7. He never followed up on this on Day 8, even though it could have got him off the lynch block, and what the scum really needed was a dead townie. Instead he voted Blastermaster at the end of Day Eight.

Diggit P2102

Well for someone with no links to Rachm, he certainly spent the end of 2109 trying to distance himself from you.

As he was a scum member I am surprised Rachm didn’t follow up any of the feeds I’d mentioned to get Diggit strung up instead, if indeed Diggit was a townie.
Also Diggit I found your claim in P2124

## suspicious. Even a townie would admit that they might have been influenced by Rachm’s vote for Lemur at the end of the day before unless of course they were trying to distance themselves from Rachm.

He didn’t - check the spreadsheet. Only three votes were cast for you in the entire of Day 7. Cookies voted you (1), then Idle through voted you (2) and unvoted you (1) and then when SCL was on 5 votes, Rachm voted you. Yes, you were really in danger. By the way, if you;ve read the posts you link to they do not say anything like:

That is a stunning piece of misdirection - I would suggest the town reads those posts. Rachm DOES NOT suggest the town should all switch votes to Diggit.

## suspicious. Even a townie would admit that they might have been influenced by Rachm’s vote for Lemur at the end of the day before unless of course they were trying to distance themselves from Rachm.

This keeps getting better and better: my entire post read

You have no way to verify my allegiance (short of my lynching or night death, and after \*\*IdleThoughts \*\*demise even that one isn’t certain)(okay, **Gadarene** , I’ll stop now) What I DO reccommend is this: look at past day’s events (especially in voteswings). Think to yourself what scum might have done in certain situations. Look at the people who voted and when they voted. That’s the way I found **Lemur866**. That’s why I “exonerated” SnakesCatLady.

The last post was from me to **Millit**. Telling her not to trust me, to trust her own read of previous day’s events.

[game off]I won’t be posting from now on to tomorrow afternoon, at best. I hope I’ll be able to log on before the day ends (I have a real life bowling tournament). Wish me luck. [/game off]

Let’s present this a bit better:
In post [2161](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=8640956&postcount=2161) , you say I asked
“Why would scum push that hard to get you lynched if you roleclaimed?”
Actually, the quote reads

> [@Diggit](#):
>
> Why would scum push that hard to get you lynched if you roleclaimed? The same reason they would push hard to say that SnakesCatLady was their main suspect. Reverse. Psychology. And it works! It really works!

And it was meant to answer your question as to why \*\*Lemur866 \*\*would attack you.

Tirial, you bring up a Mason role-claim. I don’t think that’s a good idea, especially since the Mafia will be trying harder than ever to get one tonight. (Unless there’s a definite, positive danger. Blaster, if you are a Mason, I wouldn’t role-claim until you’re at 4 votes if I were you.)

However, it would be awesome if there weren’t the complication of the Masons being their own faction. A role-claim would save us if we were all in it together. I crunched some numbers during my break tonight, to see what would happen if we did get a Mason role-claim today. (And because I was kind of bored and couldn’t think of anything else I could do to help out in the game.) This assumes three Masons, which we are all kind of assuming anyway.

Say a Mason role-claims. We could tell tirial to protect that Mason at night, and she could sacrifice herself to keep the Mason alive for one night. This would have to be agreed upon beforehand.

If that Mason dies, we know tirial is the recruit and we kill her tomorrow. If we get the scum today, then we will be at two Masons, two town–a tie win! (Or would the Masons win? Gadarene?) If we kill town tonight, then another town or Mason is killed at night, and we’re down to either 2M, 1T, 1S or 1M, 2T, 1S. Either the town or the Masons could win at that point, depending on which one it is.

If that Mason lives, tirial will probably be dead. If not, the Mafia is messing with us. If so, then we’re at 3M, 2T, one of whom is a recruit, possibly tirial. She’ll have to keep protecting the outed Mason for us to trust her. It gets tricky here. If the recruit is town, then the Masons will win, because they’ll take out the town first. If the recruit is a Mason, the Masons will have a very hard time. They’ll have to kill one of their own.

The town doesn’t stand much of a chance for a straight-up win, though, because we’re all fighting each other on three sides. And the Masons still have the advantage of knowing each other’s identity, which has got to be invaluable right now. I don’t see the Masons trying a strategic role-claim, though, because it’s still too risky. Almost all of those situations are still pretty bad, because it’s trying to prove tirial’s allegiance with the “is she a witch?” test. If she sinks, well, it’s too late.

Anyway. I don’t see what more I can do, but I think we have to lynch Blaster Master. If not, well, I did my best with what I have, which isn’t much.

I’m going to have to agree that a Mason role-claim isn’t a good idea yet, which prompts me to distance my perspecive from **tirial’s** a bit.

On the other hand, the quoting context war between **Diggit** and **tirial** just makes my head hurt. No matter how many times I read and re-read the quotes and re-quotes, it all seems to sound the same and I frankly don’t see anything convincing in it all, either way, against either of them.

So at this point I’m 75% sure that I’ll end up voting for **Blaster** but I’m loathe to be the one to throw us into an 8 hour countdown at 10:30pm (Pacific) on a Friday night.

So I’m going to sleep on it and see what, if anything transpires between now and when I wake up tomorrow.
