Another magazine with high-end demographics is Avenue magazine, the readers of which have average household income of $1.7 million. It’s distributed to people in Manhattan, so it doesn’t seem to be available to the general public. Edited to add, I believe it’s only available by controlled circulation, meaning you have to be vetted before they’ll send it to you. Computerworld (which was also available via controlled circulation) used to be promiscuous in who they considered worthy but I think these guys are pickier.

Eh, I used to subscribe to Computerworld back in the day. It wasn’t difficult at all to get a subscription.

Not applicable to the OP’s question, but my work used to have a subscription to totally oddball magazine called Computers and Automation. I think it had been a completely cromulent computer rag at first, but when I was reading it had become a total JFK conspiracy supported. Really fascinating.

I’m pretty sure I just recently unsubscribed to some super yacht forum. When i used to run along the Chicago lakefront, I’d periodically see some megayacht, and then see if I could google the owner. Some pretty wild conversations - hiring crew and such. I’d imagine the target audience for a publication aimed at those folk would be awfully wealthy. And Gulfstreams even moreso…

It isn’t a magazine or newspaper, but news talk radio station seems to be targeted at corporate CEOs. At least, that’s the impression I get from the ads, which mostly seem to be for accounting agencies, staffing agencies, loans & financing for businesses…

The Robb Report has to be on the list. For several years now, they’re displayed inside a plastic bag on the newsstand, but there was a time it was loose, and you could read it sans bag.

I loved the classifieds; they advertised islands for sale, planes, exotic cars (one was a Ferrari–I forget the model, something like a 1962 Daytona or something–originally for $2 million, then after a couple of months, the price was reduced – to $1.75 million), and so on. It had definite snob appeal.

Absolutely. If you’ve never seen one it’s worth tracking down in a high-end Barnes & Noble. (Yes, some stores in large cities have magazines that are rarely available elsewhere.)

The British magazine Monocle is the general interest magazine that caters to the audience Time wishes it had.
