I much prefer the Flaming Shitmonkeys. Not in the same league as truly underground bands such as Macrohard, Michael Moore and the Holidays in the Sun, Tappanzee Cantilever, Homo Erectus, Og Kush, Porno for Pyrolysis, Duckin Reficulous, Kensington, Dawn of War, Dictionary of Chemistry, Your Mom, The Guns of August, PC Load Letter, Botanica, Beavers and Butthairs, The Fountainblow, James Q. Moonraker, Leia Shot First, or Death By Snooker, but they have some awesome tracks. ---

Just in the past few months I’ve seen The Canadian Bar Association, Sharting Farmers, Brainberry, A Sofa Named Bobby, Hans Device, The Marx Sisters, Judas-In-Law, Shadow Pez, Guitary McSingy, The Newts, Olive Lucite, Woody & the Vernal Equinox, Baseball Penalty, Uncle Becky, Oblong “Blinky” Guffaw, Shallot, Road Mung, Calico Sandwich, My Middle Gonad, Carnal Vortex, The Pencilnecks, and Cock of Christ. I’ll be checking the local papers to see who’s in town this weekend. ---

I’m looking through these lists, looking for band names _that were actually used by bands around here_.:p:p:p After all, I was a fan of Sad Pygmy, before they broke up and half of them became Rusted Shut Amerika. Also had a friend who used to play in a band called Primer Gray Erection, which is just an absolutely _great_ name for a band. My fave local band name, though, has to be “The Killbillies” (a psychobilly band). Lead singer’s stage name:“Willie Killigan.” Extra bonus: from the town of Cut-And-Shoot, Texas. Yes, they really are. Please note: none of the above is a fabrication. Swear to Gawd. I’m pretty sure the Texas Ditchdiggers are in fact a country swing band, but that’s not really my genre. If I ever sing in a band again (highly unlikely), I hope we call it “Frieda’s eyebrow.” ---
